Faisal Karami Slams STL, Says Bellemare Employee of Lebanon

W300

Youth and Sports Minister Faisal Karami slammed the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, stressing that no tribunal will be able to carry out its investigations without a unanimous agreement on its credibility, professionalism and neutrality.

“The national consensus on the tribunal was gone since long time ago due to a series of mistakes and a behavior that didn’t comply with the minimum reputable standards,” Karami said during a dinner in honor of Arab Union Lawyers delegations on Friday.

He stressed that the STL probing ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s assassination takes its legitimacy from the international community, however, it doesn’t represent it in an “exclusive” and “absolute” way.

Karami said that “Lebanon is a founding member of the U.N., so (STL Prosecutor) Daniel Bellemare is an employee of Lebanon and not the other way around.”

“Lebanon has the right to object to a commission funded by the United Nations,” the minister noted.

Karami stressed that “the STL issued an indictment after scandalous years filled with false files, suspicious leaks and false witnesses.”

“It’s a conspiracy targeting Lebanon,” he said.

The idiot has the qualifications of a doorknob. You and your father used to be the most hated in Tripoli. Now, you're seconds to Miqati/Safadi.

The only reason you are a cabinet minister in this government is to discredit the STL as a man from a prominent Sunni family. Shame on you! Is the blood of your former Prime Minister and Sunni Leader that cheap for you. You and your dad were always a Syrian puppets. You have not learned from your dad's mistakes.

Why is the Youth and Sports Minister running his uneducated yap about STL exactly? Is there nothing needing his attention regarding the needs of ...I don't know...YOUTH OR SPORTS...in the country.

I thought this is supposed to be a gov to help us, not just do Nasrallah's bidding.

This miracle minister is more hizbullah than hizbullah itself!!!! The Shiites gave up one shiite minister in order to include this Sunni minister.... hehehehe! So, what do u expect him to say..... time to pay back his masters who appointed him.

I agree with Bashir... For proberbly the first time. He is the youth and sports minister and should keep his comments to that subject and his ministry. That goes for every minister... They should keep their opinions to the subject of their ministery and job. The justice, foreign, interior and prime minister should be the only ministers from now on, that discuss this topic. (oh, forgot the "information" minister)
