Source: Nephew of Hussein Hajj Hassan Killed in Syria

W300

The nephew of Caretaker Agriculture Minister Hussein Hajj Hassan has been killed along with three other Hizbullah fighters in Syria's Qalamoun region, a source close to the party said on Thursday.

"Ali Rida Fouad Hajj Hassan, aged 22, was killed along with three other Hizbullah fighters in Qalamoun" north of Damascus on Wednesday, the source told Agence France Presse.

"He was the nephew of Hussein Hajj Hassan," Caretaker Agriculture Minister and a leading Hizbullah member, the source added.

In May, the movement admitted for the first time that it has sent fighters to support President Bashar Assad's forces in their bid to crush an anti-regime rebellion that erupted in 2011.

According to the source, the bodies of the four men have not been brought back to Lebanon for burial.

But local TV stations said the young fighter was buried in Beirut's southern suburbs on Thursday. The funeral was accompanied by gunfire by mourners.

Qalamoun is located along the border with Lebanon, and fighting has escalated there in recent weeks as Syria's army and its backers launched a bid to wrest from the rebels areas under opposition control.

He's probably proud about it...pfff... who wants to die for Bashar!?

Thumb _mowaten_ over 10 years

nobody dies for bashar, those fighting terrorism and wahhabi-sponsored obscurantism fight for the future of all of us. had syria fallen to takfiris the nightmare wouldnt have stopped at the leb-syrian border.

dear phoenix, although i respect your views, i disagree with many points you based your analysis on.
in the first weeks and even months of the protests there was no visible takfiris, true, but reports from many sources indicated they were on the move. the fact that by end 2011 they were already present on the ground, and well organized, armed, is an ex-post proof that those reports were true, and people in charge of security were right to be worried about that.
also, it is true that it started with the kids grafitis, but the whole revolution is not entirely based on that. it triggered the first protest indeed, but very quickly the kids in question were not the question anymore. that rhetoric of saying that it was all over those kids being arrested is an extremely narrow view that ignores the root driving causes.

Thumb _mowaten_ over 10 years

despite what some medias tried to depict, from the first days of the protests there were both protesters and security officers killed, many videos showed people being shot in the streets but the shooters were not visible. what the regime was saying is that some third party elements was throwing oil on the fire by shooting on both sides.

i believe it is true not because i believe their word, but because i know they are smarter than that: it does not make sense that they agreed to reforms, and did several moves very quickly to appease protesters (release political prisoner, end martial law, announce new constitution) while at the same time continuing to shoot on protesters when it clearly only made the people more angry.
at the same time truckloads of weapons were pouring into syria, and several were caught on the lebanese border, rebels and pro-rebels denied all that, but today we know it was true, dont we?

Thumb _mowaten_ over 10 years

when the lebanese minister of defense said there was al qaeda infiltrating arsal, they screamed and yelled it was not true ( flashback: http://www.naharnet.com/stories/en/23982 ) but now we know it was, don't we?

at that time if you remember, hezbollah's position was in favor of a political solution, it publicly asked the syrian regime to hear the demands and implement reforms. the rebels were already refusing any option "en block" and demanding nothing else than a capitulation, remember that?

after that HA didnt interfere for over a year, by that time the rebels had turned out to be mainly islamic integrists and 10 villages populated by lebanese on the syrian side of the border were attacked, massacred and burnt down. this is when hezbollah announced that it was their duty to help these villages defend themselves.

phoenix: it is I who thank you, always a pleasure to share views with you :) I just wish more people on this site had just half your decency

as for the times ahead of us, yes, they look like they wont be easy, there are real dangers facing us, and sadly at this time i do not see the government in position to tackle them. (it is sad to say, but look at every single file: endless bickering end up paralyzing everything, nothing gets done). So even if it is wrong that hezbollah takes matters in hand (i concede you that), for the moment i cant see any alternative.

ala-din: yes sure, hezbollah never had tanks, but 3 months into the conflict and their men mastered them better than SAA tank crews who trained all their lives for that.
if you're going to try to interfere in a discussion, at least find something less silly to say.

Such a waste of well trained terrorist.

May he not rest in peace.

May he be an example of what happens when you agree to fight for a cause you don't understand.

May his family live a miserable life for encouraging him to go to battle.

May he not end up in heaven with countless virgins.

May he not be branded a fake martyr of a fake terrorist movement.

May all our dear Lebanese youth fighting in Syria for which ever party wake up and smell the manipulation and come back and build this damn country !

Bro,
may any Lebanese deceased rest in peace, we are all Lebanese after all.
but the issue is DEAD FOR WHAT?

Thumb FlameCatcher over 10 years

No killer or fighter or mercenary should rest in peace. They should rot in hell.

And I beg to differ. No hezbollah fighter or partisan of most other "lebanese" parties have no Lebanese Identity. They have a Christian or Sunni or Shiite identity. They are answer to Saudi / Iran or any other country.

But they have no sense of LEBANESE IDENTITY.

sending 22 year old boys gives an indication of how bankrupt HA is. Islam says what means " Don't hate something, it might be useful to you".
The fact that the syrian revolution dragged is yielding pleasant results.

keep it up HA, might as well start sending your teens.

@Southern : You're lying. He sacrificed his life for Bashar el Assad. The only thing attracting terrorists to the country is Hezbollah.

"only sane people can see it this way." : The problem is that you are not sane and blind to the real reasons Hezbollah is fighting in Syria.

They lie to you about fighting "terrorists" when we all know for a fact they are ordered by Iran to provide support to Bashar and prevent his regime from collapsing.

A criminal regime that has commited attrocities in Lebanon. Attrocities you forget or choose to ignore.

Hezbollah has built this illusion for you that they are protecting Lebanon when in fact they are protecting anything but Lebanon.

He sacrificed his life for lies!

Thumb FlameCatcher over 10 years

Last I looked, that was Syria's problem.

The Lebanese "Holy Resistance"'s job is to defend our borders. Not to fight in enemy territory and import war, bombs and destruction to Lebanon.

Last I looked, Hezbollah / Iran follow Sharia law... claim Jihad ...

So please, think before you speak ...

For those of you criticizing Hizbollah 22 year old heroes who have died defending Lebanon from terrorists I ask you one fact for you: the greatest army in the world went in a mission fighting these same terrorists that are now threatening Lebanon. The American heroes who have been martyred in this same mission were also between the ages of 18 and 22.

Apparently my question shocks some people or the mod.

so i'm going to rephrase..... again.... but at some point it'll become too vague and not understandable.

my questions are the following:

Thumb benzona over 10 years

Are hezbolla fighters like salafi fighters promised something involving 70+ 'people' in heaven?

Thumb benzona over 10 years

Are hezbolla fighters dying in syria considered as martyrs?

Thumb benzona over 10 years

LoL indeed! Hissaib 's spirit is extremely high. The true reason being his army (Hussain's Army ©®™ RFT) got reinforcements in heaven. Apparently, the not so invincible Armada is getting stronger :-P

And flamethrower, no need for the childish punts on my handle, atleast lets try and have a civilised mature debate. On the actual topic at hand, I appreciate your jealousy on the ISF and the army, you have mentioned this incident in many of your posts. I hope to see your same comments when Hizbulla completely bypasses the army, or executes their pilots or when Sayyed Hassan completely disregards the Lebanese nation as a helpless state or when he refused to let the Lebanese army spread within the south of Lebanon, will you be jealous about our security forces then?

Missing peace over 10 years

NO ONE asked for hezbollah to go in syria... if they die there , they knew the consequences of their blind obedience to iranman.
in no way are they in syria to defend lebanon, but rather the interests of syria and iran.... and the interests of the distribution of oil , nothing more....
