Al-Mustaqbal Warns of International Relations Crisis in Case of Noncooperation with STL

The Lebanese cabinet should deal responsibly with the indictment issued in ex-Premier Rafik Hariri’s murder case or else the country will witness a crisis in its ties with the international community, al-Mustaqbal bloc MPs warned on Saturday.

“In short, we urge the government to act responsibly towards a tribunal decision that received repeated Lebanese consensus at the national dialogue and in previous policy statements,” MP Nohad al-Mashnouq told An Nahar newspaper.

His remarks came a day after the Special Tribunal for Lebanon released the names of four Hizbullah members who are wanted on suspicion of murder in the Feb. 2005 truck bomb that killed former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.

All were indicted one month ago, but their identities were withheld until the Lebanese authorities were informed. Prosecutor Daniel Bellemare persuaded the court that publication of the names and photographs of the suspects would increase the prospects for their arrest.

Another al-Mustaqbal MP, Hadi Hbeish, said that the tribunal has other details on how the crime took place and other assassinations in the aftermath of Hariri’s murder.

Former Minister Mohammed Shatah, who is the advisor of al-Mustaqbal movement chief and ex-Premier Saad Hariri, also told Voice of Lebanon radio station (93.3) that the government has a “difficult and historic mission not just in the issue of assassinations but also in (guaranteeing) the country’s cohesion.”

“If the cabinet rejected to cooperate with the tribunal, then this is an important evidence on the nature of authority in Lebanon,” Shatah said in reference to the Hizbullah-led government.

Times have changed , the hotels in Lebanon are 100 % full , we dont want or need the Arabs from KSA or UAE or Qatar , the Lebanese diaspora is here and the touristic season of this year with the new government , has never been as good as it is today .

This F.. statue will soon be removed from ground Zero , the Saint Georges Bay . enough is enough with their barbecued shaheed .. let them put his statues in his own country KSA .

BTW how come there is no street in his name in KSA that is his own country ? I remind you that as a Saudi , you are not allowed to hav another nationality other than the Saudi !! So Rafik had the Saudi and Saad has also the Saudi !! So how come they both became PM's in Lebanon without having the Lebanese nationality ????????????????????????

We will soon find out , than we will declare that their term was Nul et non avenu . Caduc .

This is a statue befitting its subject: a butt sitting where a head normally belongs. Anything used to go in Mafia Hariri Land. But now the party and the Party are both over and gone. Lebanon's long-awaited Spring has finally become a reality. REJOICE, DECENT LEBANESE.

Non cooperation with the STL will result in sanctions on the Lebanese state, Lebanon can not afford an economic hit or to be isolated. Does the m8 camp even care about Lebanese legitimacy! We the people must rise against this corrupt government before we are all starving and our dollar is as inflated as iran's (10,570 rial = 1 USD)!!!

You are delusional. Plain and simple. I'm not sure if you really believe the stuff you're saying or if your just doing it to justify the actions of your leaders.
