Report: Hizbullah Officials to Move Out of Beirut's Southern Suburbs

W300

Hizbullah has decided to move the residences of several of its officials to areas outside Beirut's southern suburbs, al-Liwaa newspaper reported on Saturday.

The daily said the move would be temporary pending a firm decision to implement strict security measures in the Hizbullah stronghold following several deadly blasts that rocked the Beirut's southern suburbs and other areas where the party has a large influence.

The latest attack was on Tuesday when a car bomb ripped through the Haret Hreik district of the suburbs, killing four people.

It was the second bombing in the neighborhood this month.

A group known as the Nusra Front in Lebanon claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was in retaliation for Hizbullah's military support of President Bashar Assad's forces in Syria.

Last week, a car bomb struck the northeastern Shiite town of Hermel close to the Syrian border during rush hour, killing at least three people.

This is an incorrect report, it is not a lateral move more of a vertical move. Nasrallah is digging a little deeper under ground and extending the bunker. That way he can hide from the Israelis and the officials can hide from the hornets nets of terrorist they invited. And as usual every body left on top gets to pay the price.

2 days ago, I advised about info about more bombings targeting this time shia officials in crowded shia regions are in execution.
this article says the same in a different manner :)

whatever, hizbushaitan has brought hate and destruction to the shia from all over the world.

they are now known as terrorists by everyone. is this what the shia community wants?

Dear @Jaafar: I wish just for once you try to exercise some self-restraint and not insult your fellow posters. @geha is one of the most respected posters on Naharnet and many of us feel offended when you try but fail to insult him. Sorry @Jaafar, I am going to have to vote you down for the first time ever:(

Good riddance.... Move to Iran you traitors. Many people have perished because of you.

I have a feeling the place where the bombs went off is a major HA HQ. This move, I'm sure, is too late. HA is now a target for jihadists, There is no end to this as long as the Saudi and Iranian regimes exist.

I hate to do the research for you. But since you live here on Naharnet and don't have time to read and analyze what's going on outside Rabyieh and Dahieh, here is just ONE link of many for your perusal.

Flamethrower: I am addressing you. Please, DO NOT insult @general_puppet!!!!! Any attack on g_p is a personal attack on me, and I will not stand for it. I am voting you down for the following reasons:
1) rudeness
2) lack of debating skills
3) unnecessary roughness and foul play
4) aggressiveness and excessive use of insults

I am a supporter of HA, but I am impartial.

Southern, shouldn't your top brass stay close to their people instead of fleeing?

@southern

you just explained hizbushaitan aim when they are bombing m14 personalities :) thank you for clarifying why they do target so many civilians too :)

Thumb general_puppet over 10 years

It was the Zionist that did it. After all that is the first thing that comes out of the Iranians mouths every time a car bomb goes off.

Thumb general_puppet over 10 years

"the terrorists are not seeking HA's officials"… well then why are the officials running away? Maybe they should fallow in Aoun's footsteps but instead of running off to France they can run back home to Iran.

This is very odd, an article about the Iranian militias leadership looking to abandon ship but no sign of the M8 thumbs-down brigade? And only two cheerleaders showing up for work so far?

I do not think that a move like this, if true, is a wise move. It leaves an already soft target "Dahyeh" more exposed. Moving out will only semi- protect the ones moving out to hide somewhere else.

sure they are... it is all part of the game to make believe you are targeted to make people like FT cry like virgins and support hezbi in syria...

didn't you claim that M14 assassinated people were killed by m14? the same logic here then, mr double standard....

An interesting story, if proven correct. If Hezbollah can no longer hold itself within its "stronghold" then where will its officials be safe? They have existed in Lebanon like a black widow spider that lives because it can paralyze those around it. Now, it seems, the Hezbollah induced paralysis of the Lebanese Government works not to insulate Hezbollah, but to expose it to its enemies, and there is a long line of them waiting for retribution.

Thumb beiruti over 10 years

What is the survival move under these circumstances for Hezbollah? If its leadership moves to Hermel or Baalbek, away from the Port and Airport in the isolated part of north eastern Lebanon, it is more exposed to the Sunni extremists from Syria. If they move to the South, this is exposure to Israel. Where can they run, except vertically down into deeper tunnels. But not everyone can go there. While their constituencies among the Shiites are being killed, the billionare Hezbollah leadership is safe underground? Not a formula for survival.

Thumb beiruti over 10 years

The solution is the counter of the current status quo. End the paralysis of the Lebanese State institutions. Make peace with the other Parties in Lebanon. This will require compromise to survive, like turning over weapons to the LAF and ISF and assuming a proper role in the ministries of state so that the weapons may be legally used with a consensus decision or a majority decision taken with all Lebanese parties represented. It is one thing to attack a militia with impunity, it is quite another to attack a sovereign state. Lebanon's sovereignty now is in animated suspension with HEzbollah assuming de facto state powers. This will be its undoing unless it changes.

Thumb beiruti over 10 years

Hezbollah now has achieved what the LF wanted in the 1980's a Statelet. The LF wanted a Christian statelet in the Sharieh, Hezbollah now wants on in their areas. The LF was animated at the time by its exposure to Israeli influences just as Hezbollah now is influenced by Hezbollah.
But Geagea, over time saw this as a losing proposition and abandoned the idea. The concentration of Christians in one geographic area made it easier for our elimination. Like the last crusaders at Acre.
Hezbollah, by concentrating in one geographic area is making it easy for its enemies to eliminate them. The Christians learned, we need a state, not a statelet. Hezbollah has yet to learn the lesson.

Thumb beiruti over 10 years

I mean, Hezbollah is now inluenced by Israel, not Hezbollah, my mistake. It was a long night.
