Lebanon Will Submit STL’s Report over Suspects before End of Timeframe

Judicial authorities completed the report that will be sent to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon probing the assassination of ex-Premier Rafik Hariri, before the end of the indictment’s specified timeframe on August 11, An Nahar newspaper reported on Monday.

The daily said that the report includes a detailed presentation of the efforts made by these authorities and the Lebanese security apparatuses in tracking down the four suspects named in the indictment issued by the STL.

Judicial sources told the newspaper that STL President Judge Antonio Cassese’s response to the report will be clear after Lebanon submits it.

“He will then issue a statement to announce if he considers the Lebanese efforts were enough or not,” they said.

The sources noted that it’s not clear if Pre-Trial Judge Daniel Fransen will publish the details of the indictment, which is his authority.

In July, Fransen ordered confidentiality around the charges against the four suspects in the Hariri murder be dropped.

Salim Jamil Ayyash, 47, Mustafa Amine Badreddine, 50, Hussein Hassan Oneissi, 37 and Assad Hassan Ssabra, 34, are operatives of Hizbullah.

The names of the four, whose whereabouts are not known, were revealed by the Lebanese government late last month after being leaked to local media following a tribunal confirmation on June 30 that it had submitted a confidential indictment and arrest warrants to Lebanese authorities.

On July 8, Fransen issued an international arrest warrant against the accused and it authorized the prosecutor's office to give it to Interpol to issue a "red notice" on the suspects.

The report is a 1-liner: "We can't find anyone. We can't do anything. Try something else against Hizbullah".

The report is a one liner: We Know Hizbullah Killed Harriri and all the other Martyrs, The killers are now Saints, We cannot arrest Saints for fear of Divine Penalty, Bomb Syria....."

Every decent Lebanese should demand that their name be added to the list of accused because ridding Lebanon of the filthiest of the filthy is not only their duty, but also the honorable thing to do. In any case, those who really executed the pork deserve the highest medal of honor and the greatest form of appreciation by all decent Lebanese.

I would expect the report to be BS at best, full of language that is more design to appease to international tribunal, like ,yeah we did our best looking for these fugitives and we could not find them but we will still be looking, frankly ,i think most of these guys have been liquidated like Mugnieh for example or maybe that Syrian general who committed suicide. What the people who gave the order don,t know is that these professional investigator and prosecutor will find the trail that would lead to the source. one of the culprits is too big to hide in Damascus and the the other culprit have gotten used to undergroud and will continue to do so.JUSTICE IS COMING .

Please take notice of the post from "Varrouj", and then you can understand the mindset of the people who killed our martyrs. Hard to believe this attitude exists in this day and age.

After physically killing Rafik, now they attempt to assassinate his reputation. This is not some innocent post from a lone visitor to this website. This attitude has percolated down from above. Some have been told to spread this message of hate, and some of the sheep actually believe it.

If you read the UN reports on the investigation of the murder of Hariri, you will see that they have recorded conversations from Syrian and M8 figures who actually talked about their plans to smear the reputation of Hariri after his murder to justify their evil deed. It was their stated intention to blame the deficit on him.

I wonder what they are also saying to smear Gemayel, Tueni, Kassir, Eid and others. I see that Bigdig has already insulted Kassir on another article. He was no activist?
