Cabinet to Hold Special Session on Electricity Friday

The cabinet has decided to hold a special session Friday dedicated to pursuing its discussions on the issue of electricity, Information Minister Walid al-Daouq said after Thursday’s cabinet meeting.

“A ministerial meeting will be held tomorrow to discuss the issue of electricity,” Daouq told reporters after the weekly cabinet session.

Daouq added that “the cabinet approved a draft law submitted by Finance Minister Mohammed Safadi on opening extraordinary approbations worth LBP 8,900 billion to cover expenditure until December 31, 2011.”

The next cabinet session will be held at the Beiteddine Palace on Tuesday, August 23, the information minister announced.
