Israeli Force Seizes Goat Flock in Shebaa, Shepherds Manage to Escape

W300

An Israeli force on Tuesday seized a flock of goats from the southern border town of Shebaa, as two shepherds managed to escape a possible kidnapping attempt.

"An Israeli force seized a goat flock that belongs to shepherds Mohammed Khalil Nabaa and Khodr Hamdan from the Sadana mountain heights in Shebaa,” the state-run National News Agency reported.

The flock was taken away to the occupied Shebaa Farms, the NNA noted, adding that the two shepherds managed to escape the Israeli force.

The same source remarked that an Israeli force had set up an ambush to the north of the border line, around 50 to 100 kilometers inside Shebaa, before seizing the goats.

Lebanese army troops later deployed heavily in the region following these latest developments in the South, said the news agency.

In a similar recent incident, an Israeli force failed on July 18 to kidnap a Lebanese shepherd who hails from Shebaa, but managed to take the flock of goats instead.

Israeli troops frequently kidnap shepherds near border areas.

They are usually interrogated before their eventual release.

This act of Israeli aggression against a flock of goats should not be tolerated and cannot be taken lightly. It is indicative of the enemy's careful and premeditated evil intentions against our natural resources be it water, gas, or livestock.
