The government general secretariat has started preparing the agenda for the upcoming cabinet session, scheduled for next week, reported al-Joumhouria newspaper on Thursday.

Sources of Premier Tammam Salam told the daily that the cabinet is likely to resume holding weekly sessions to restore its previous work rate and in order to tackle a number of affairs that have been pending for a long time.

Next week's session will include 47 articles remaining from the previous session, which was held on Thursday.

Other articles left over from a June 30 meeting will also be added to next week's agenda.

On Monday, the PM reiterated that the election of a president is the most important event that should be held to end Lebanon's problems and regulate the work of constitutional institutions.

Another priority is to hold the parliamentary elections on time, Salam said.

“There are a lot of other issues that we should resolve, including the case of Syrian refugees,” he added.
