We all know that graduating from university means a new lifestyle, new job, new car, new apartment, and the independence you’ve been waiting for since high school! Doesn’t that sound pretty damn attractive to you? Don’t you wish to rush your stressful university years for such a lifestyle? I bet you do.

“Kil shi 7elo bi wa2to” is a Lebanese expression which means everything is beautiful in its right time, and this statement is very true. As a student you should not rush your university years, because those are years you won’t get back. University is the place that helps you build yourself academically and personally, so you need to view it as an opportunity. An opportunity which allows you to meet people, to make lifetime friends, and to build your connections.

While in university you should search for different clubs and projects in order to participate in campus activities. This won’t only allow you to meet people, but it will help you build your Resume. Also, it is very important to engage with your professors; this is the key to a wider network, and maybe even to finding a job after you graduate. Learn how your brain works to be able to study efficiently in those 4 years, this will save you time and teach you how to absorb knowledge faster. Lastly and most importantly, get as many part time jobs as possible, since experience trumps your degree any day!

You must know that your internship doesn’t cut it anymore, in order to find a job after you graduate you need to not only know the information you learn in university but to know how to apply it properly. A company won’t invest in you if you don’t have anything extra to contribute to them especially with so much competition today. So work on yourself during your university years. Also, work and experience will help you develop a sense of responsibility, independence, and passion.

Success doesn’t come on a silver platter, you must sweat for it and enjoy the ride, because even if it’s hard, it’s a beautiful one. Now, with your previous experience, a wide network, and your degree you possess the knowledge and the skills to start your career life.
