Army Questions Israeli Arab who Swam to Naqoura

The army was on Tuesday questioning an Israeli Arab who turned up on a beach in south Lebanon after swimming from Israel, a Lebanese security official said.

The National News Agency identified the man on Monday as Ahmed Jamal Daaif.

The official said the man showed up in a diving suit on a beach in Naqoura after having swum from Nahariya beach in Israel Monday. Investigations were ongoing to determine whether he had entered Lebanese waters by mistake.

The Israeli army said it had no information on the case.
