10 Real Estate Registry Employees Charged with Abuse of Authority

Ten Real Estate Registry employees were charged on Tuesday with the squandering of public funds, reported the National News Agency.

The charges also include the abuse of authority and accepting bribes.

The employees include real estate brokers, Registry secretaries, assistants, and other workers.

The case has been referred to Beirut Beirut First Examining Magistrate Judge Ghassan Oueidat.

On Monday, Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil referred to the General Prosecution a file on the introduction of spoiled frozen shrimp to the Lebanese market.

He called for carrying out an internal investigation at the customs administration to uncover those involved.
