Hariri in Mecca to Perform Omra, Extends Greetings to Lebanese

Prime Minister Saad Hariri traveled to Mecca on Tuesday to perform the Omra and spend the Eid al-Fitr holidays with his family.

On Wednesday, Hariri extended greetings to the Lebanese on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and expressed regret for not welcoming well-wishers for being in Mecca.

Meanwhile, political circles continued to praise Hariri's latest statement on wrongly accusing Syria of involvement in his father's Feb. 205 assassination.

A well-informed political source told As Safir newspaper that the last meeting between Hariri and Syrian President Bashar Assad had set the stage for the change in Hariri's rhetoric.
