France: We are Very Worried about Safety of Syrians in Lebanon
The French Foreign Minister voiced on Friday its “deep concern” over the safety of Syrians in Lebanon in light of reports that the Syrian army had infiltrated Lebanese territory on Thursday where it killed a Syrian national living near the border.
French Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero stressed during a press conference that France is committed to an independent, sovereign, and secure Lebanon.
A Lebanese security official had reported that Syrian forces had entered Lebanon on Thursday where it killed a Syrian national who is married to a Lebanese woman.
Prime Minister Najib Miqati had stressed that the government is keen on protecting Syrians in Lebanon.
Furthermore, the French government had repeatedly warned the Syrian regime against targeting Syrian opposition members residing in the European state.
It issued its warning in light of reports that Syrian Embassy employees had been targeting opposition members in France.

These people are unbelievable... They are not worried about the Lebanese villagers who are being shot at and killed along with a few Syrians escaping their hell in Syria... Maybe someone should tell him about the attcks some Lebanese are suffering at the hand of pro Assad criminals in Hamra and downtown Beirut...

How worried were you, when Syrian nationals were being killed in Lebanon after the assassination of rafik hariri? estimates of anywhere near 1000 syrians were murdered in Lebanon in the aftermarth and no one cared... Syrians are constantly being attacked in lebanon, not only in tripoli but in maronite and shiite areas as well. thousands have been injured and at least hundreds killed in only 6 years and the police does nothing about it, neither does march14 nor march8. Yet now all of a sudden these same people pretend they care about syria and syrian people because they want to exploit us for their own grudges and desires. Its disgusting to say the least.

Kawmi gustave...Normally I wouldn't reply, but I feel I must with an idiot like u.I my self didn't care when hearing about Syrian murders.I felt that what goes around comes around.I was bashed by syrians.I was there in 2001 when the batrak had the mass in jamour.My friends were arrested in front of the justice ministry in august 2001.They were beaten for asking Syria to leave Lebanon.While the heroes now are bashing Syria, the same people that use to kiss their feet when they ruled Lebanon.Now they are so heroic.
I will never forget what the Syrians and palestinians did to Lebanon.But I forgive.We cannot be syria's enemy if they leave us alone.They have left, and we now should be their friendly neighbors.The scum that shout for trouble now are the same that use to call for Lebanon and Syria to be one country. 14th of march 2005 was the proudest day of my life.But I will always regect that day being hijacked by bootlickers like the mustaqbul party. well, it looks nowadys those two situations are there looking at the Middle East: the exiating Palestinian Israeli conflict, the Syro/Iranian threat, the oil, the worldwide economical degrading situations,....
the outcome looks bleak, and will only be resolved by a major war: WWIII.
Russia and China vetoed the UN resolution on Syria by fear that some day the west would issue a UN resolution against their crackdowns on their people. they are trying to avoid a precedent, but that does not mean they approve what is going on in Syria, as denoted by the comments of the Russian president yesterday.
