Ten Syrian Army Defectors Arrested in al-Labweh
Ten Syrian army defectors were arrested Wednesday in the northern Bekaa town of al-Labweh, state-run National News Agency reported.
“Lebanese army intelligence agents arrested around 10 Syrian defectors at the Ain al-Shaab checkpoint in the town of al-Labweh,” NNA said.
It identified four of them as Colonel Ali Walid Ahmed Eidan, Colonel Ali Mohammed al-Masri, First Sergeant Mohammed Abdul Hussein Ghosn and the soldier Mohammed Ghazi Ahmed Hamdo.
“They were on their way from Arsal to areas inside Lebanon,” NNA said.
The detainees were referred to the Ablah barracks in the Bekaa for interrogation, it added.
