Jumblat Holds Talks with Hariri in Riyadh on Local Developments

W300

Progressive Socialist Party chief MP Walid Jumblat held talks on Wednesday with head of the Mustaqbal Movement MP Saad Hariri in Saudi Arabia.

A statement from the former premier's office said that the two officials met in Riyadh to discuss the latest local developments in Lebanon, most notably the political deadlock over the election of a president.

Voice of Lebanon radio (100.5) had reported earlier that Jumblat had held a meeting with King Salman.

The MP had traveled to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

He is accompanied by his son Taimur and Health Minister Wael Abou Faour.

Regional and international issues will be the focus of talks between Jumblat and Saudi officials, who had recently paid visits to Moscow and Paris, reported al-Joumhouria newspaper on Wednesday.

Mystic my dear Mystic, I know you so well, to the point where I know when you've lost it. If I am the perfect sellout, you then must be the perfect delusion, in simpler terms, of a people who refuse to touch ground with events. May you enjoy many more divine victories.

(1). Southern, Zabadani, does that ring a bell? If it does, then good for you, it's what I refer to for you as your wake up call. As I mentioned in my previous post, the once almighty Hezbollah, with the once almighty Syrian army, with Russia, Iran, ah, another almighty, could not even hold on to it, so, cease fires after cease-fires. I said it earlier, I hate nothing more than Daesh and wish them all the harm in the world, but people like you, especially that clown Aoun should cease dreaming, Russia will go no further than help the Syrian army regain territory deemed vital for its survival, so if anyone is deluding himself with illusion of the Syria of before, so far no one can see it happening. Russia has still yet to commit boots on the ground, so if it doesn't which it won't, the outcome is predictable already.

Thumb -phoenix1 over 8 years

(2). Southern. I understand your feelings my dear Southern, you are a Shiite brother and quite naturally you are hooked up to Hezbollah for many reasons, in your calculations filtering all the way up from central command, you're hoping that Russia will re-establish the Syria of old, thus the Hezbollah of old, thus, the power of old in Lebanon, thus the Aoun of old for president. Personally I can't see that happening, apparently, Syria will never be the same as before, Russia simply wants its access to the Med, thus Tartous and nearby bases, don't forget the strategic and moral interests attached to them, and if a political solution is found whereby Bachar continue Ad-Interim then rest assured Russia will eventually let go of him.

Thumb -phoenix1 over 8 years

(3). Southern. I am very much sympathetic to Russia and wish it well, because deep at heart I am profoundly hurt what these bast*rds Daesh did to minorities, among them Christians and in my heart I'd wish to see them roast ash-grey, but Russia has its limits, air campaigns are effective, but only to a certain limit, the rest is work to be done on the ground, thus, boots on the ground , without which results will remain lukewarm at best. The calculation is for Russia to use its airpower and right under it, for the Syrian army to tempt advances on the ground, but again, how far can the Syrians, aided by HA and Iran can go? Let's be realistic, no one sees any further than securing a Aalawite state with a certain buffer zone. Anyway, let's see what happens as time progresses, but again, HA calculations are the ones based on wishful thinking, added to a twist of propaganda effort to keep chins up, you see?

Missing peace over 8 years

i totally share your point of view. but many people don't like to face hard truths, they prefer to stay blind to them. It is exactly what hezbi lovers do. They believe russia will save syria and take it back as i was but russia is only there to save their bases. period.
hezbollah is stuck there and is losing rather than winning anything.

Missing imagine_1979 over 8 years

Phenix, russia is attaking da3ech in idlib? It is using the same assad strategy kill rebels and leave onluy da3ech and assad as options...
But to our moumaniin friends why worry? assad donnot enjoy the support of 88.7% of the syrian population...

Russian airstrikes have been targeted at the "other" rebels and hardly on ISIS. In fact, ISIS have attacked the "rebels" and gained territory only to withdraw a day later and hand it over to Assad and Hezbollah without a fight.

Jumblat sold the Druze in favor of Saudi dollars and Hariris blessings.
It's sad to see a whole sect being sold away like that.

Thumb Mystic over 8 years

Why didn't he support his fellow Druze in Syria? They got slaughtered by Al Nusra, and he gave them orders to stand down and not to retaliate.

That is one of the main reasons Jumblat is not an honorable leader. People like Wahhab knows what he is talking about, steadfast and talks for his people.

Thumb Mystic over 8 years

Also encouraging them to fight, unlike Jumblat that stands down and take his hand in the air, asking for more Gulf dollars.

Thumb -phoenix1 over 8 years

(1). Mystic, people like you need to get off that high horse you were once riding, that horse has limped, begged to be released and now it's dead. Now that you people are riding on donkeys, you certainly realize that your view of the horizon is much lower and diminished. people like you are now hedging their bets over Russia, fine by me, me too I have the world's hatred for Daesh and the Takfiri groups, but your bravado nowadays is only to hide a terrible defeat, a serious blow to the image that Hezbollah was trying to cut across, that too is gone for good.

Thumb -phoenix1 over 8 years

(2). Mystic. In Syria, together with the regime, Russia, Iran and several other countries, you people were losing ground constantly, even a resort town you couldn't keep. Now Russia is in with increased firepower, but it is there only to help Bachar carve out his Aalawite stronghold and nothing more, the rest of Syria will go for grabs between the other Sunni rival camps. If you people are still dreaming of your hitherto delusions of grandeur, your wake up call has long since rung, it's over, done, adios. Bachar's Syria has shrunk fearfully, and it will remain a little state constantly fighting to survive. It will only be a shadow of its former self, and that includes Hezbollah, unfortunately for you people.

Phoenix, good you arrived. You are the perfect example of a sellout just likke Jumblat and Geagea, instead of backing a Christian power such as Russia, you instead go over to Arab Oil sheikhs and take their dollars for granted.

The lowest of the lowest ya phoenix, that is the way I see your kind.

Thumb Mystic over 8 years

My point is phoenix, your miscalculated alliance with the Wahabis will only mean your doom.

Jumblat & Geagea made the same mistake because they thought the takfiris would win in Syria and tip the balance in the Middle East, they are both hoping that Saudi Arabia and Hariri will protect them if Lebanon was taken over by ISIS and Al Nusra.

"later the scenery was changing as the Lebanese political war lords... "
funny how you avoid the truth: syria helped christians then when they were becoming too strong they let them down and sided with the sunnis then same thing they let them down to side with others... you know why? because they never wanted to help Lebanon but rather to sit their power over it. you cheered them after the war and thanked them for it in 2005... remember? syria was politics was just to set up fires then come and put them out to appear as a savior... your beloved aoun said the exact same thing ...
that is the kind of regime you support...
