Army Apprehends Fugitive for Smuggling Weapons

The army arrested a Lebanese national in the northern region of Akkar on charges of smuggling weapons to a terrorist group, an army statement said on Saturday.

“An army patrol arrested Youssef Mahmoud al-Khodr on Friday, in the northern Lebanese border town of Mashta Hassan,” the statement said.

“Khodr is wanted on charges of transporting weapons and ammunition in 2014 in the town of al-Douseh, and attempting to smuggle them through the northern border to one of the terrorist groups,” it added.

The man was handed to the related authorities for interrogations.
