Mneimneh: Opposition has Dealt with the Government with A Lot of Unfairness

Caretaker Education Minister Hasan Mneimneh criticized on Thursday “media incitement aimed at weakening the government and confusing the citizen.”

He praised during a press conference the achievements of the now caretaker government saying: “In his role as prime minister, Saad Hariri stood at an equal distance from all his ministers and ministries … but the opposition bargained the country’s needs because of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.”

He added: “Some opposition leaderships began dealing with the government through a lot of unfairness, and even oppression, which eliminated the great efforts performed at several ministries.”

Addressing Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal’s statements over fears of Lebanon’s division, Mneimneh stated: “I don’t believe that any Lebanese side is seeking to divide the country, it is just a cry of warning should the situation in Lebanon deteriorate.”

“He is expressing Saudi Arabia’s dissatisfaction with the results of the consultations and it is holding the other camp responsible for this,” the minister noted.
