Geagea Calls for 'Army-People-State Equation'

W300

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea has called for replacing the controversial “army-people-resistance equation” with an “army-people-state equation”, as he hailed the Lebanese army over its border offensive against Islamic State militants.

“In light of what the Lebanese army is doing today in Operation Dawn of the Outskirts, it would be unacceptable for things to continue in the same manner. Some were claiming that the army lacked the capabilities but it has been proven otherwise, seeing as when it is given the opportunity it can achieve anything,” Geagea said.

“No state can maintain two armies and no state can rise without having exclusive control of the strategic decisions. All of their excuses have been refuted and I call on all political forces to do a reevaluation so that we all embrace the army-people-state golden equation,” the LF leader added.

The army began its long-awaited operation in the outskirts of the border towns of Ras Baalbek and al-Qaa region early on Saturday, and has so far captured around 80 out of 120 square kilometers of territory from the hands of the IS group.

The army's assault comes after Hizbullah waged its own campaign against jihadists operating in another border area south of the current battle. The group's six-day offensive against al-Qaida's former affiliate in Arsal's outskirts ended with a ceasefire and the transfer of around 8,000 refugees and jihadists to a jihadist-held area of northwestern Syria in return for the release of eight captured Hizbullah fighters.

Why do we have to have 'equations'?! Do people in other countries have equations like we do? Every country has a government and an army except in primitive shia dominated countries like Iran, Iraq and Lebanon.

Resistance? Which one? The one which has destroyed the Living together? The one which is destroying Lebanon? The one which is in love with the Iranium backaged culture????

Mystic, you speak for yourself... go look at your leader before complaining about other leaders. The rest of Lebanon is in 2017, while your party is stuck in the 1970's... :P

lebanonforever; so you are the real Christian here huh? It is people like you who are doing a disservice to the Christians. So you are more Christian than him or (perhaps me) because he does not want your stupid equations huh?

Which part of his comment you did not agree with that caused this outburst? The part were he said why do we need equations or that we should have a government and an army full stop.
It would have been better had you kept your mouth zipped.

'lebanon for ever':)
crawl back into the hole you just came out from. Who are you to tell people what to say or do? You're asking him to remove the cross? Why, are you an emissary from the Vatican or you have a monopoly over who wears a cross?

As @exfpm already said you and your likes are doing the 'negative' service towards the Christians. If you disagree with @lubnani.masi7i then what is it that you agree with: having a sectarian iranian militia with its boots around your neck?

I doubt you are for Lebanon and Forever.

"Please remove the cross from your name and kindly change your name."

and in what capacity are you asking him to do that, hey?

You are one of those blind Geagea followers who still believe in what he says but that should not give you the right to attack posters who believe otherwise.

You are no different than the hezbollah followers who if you disagree with would strip you off your religion, identity and nationality.

look at this retard got into a fit because someone commented on what Geagea said. Yet, his avatar mocks the highest Christian position in the country which incidentally Geagea voted for.

Lebanon For Ever, you posted your comment around 4 in the morning Beirut time which might indicate that you do not live in Lebanon. Tell me: where you live do they have equations that you feel comfortable with?

Anyone with half a brain can realize that Hizbollah since 2000 never worked for Lebanese interests or the interests of the Shia community. They are a militia created, funded and indoctrinated by Iran’s radicals and therefore foreign agents. They are the reason our army have not received the arms it needs from many donor nations. They have destroyed Lebanon’s economy, caused the exodus of all foreign corporations that had always preferred Lebanon for their regional headquarter by their hatred of the West, they have instituted the largest network of drug dealers and money laundering, and worst of all, their values are 100% opposite to the secular, democratic, open and western-oriented values that characterized Lebanon. While majority of Iran population wanted the freedom and openness of Lebanese Shia Hizb transformed Lebanon into another North Korean style pariah nation with massive economic, political and social failure.

Dactor Geagea has earned my respect and captured my imagination for many reasons chief among them:
1) Vehemently opposing proportional representation
2) Vehemently supporting proportional representation
3) Having reservations on the Policy Statement
4) Having No Hostility towards Hezbollah
5) Abiding by the 3 No-No's Rule
6) Supporting a Made-In-Lebanon President elected by an illegitimate Parliament
7) Supporting a Strong State without the presence of 'Illegitimate Armed Groups'
8) His love for Algebra and Equations

and

9) Assuring us the Cedar Revolution is well and alive
