Strong Lebanon Bloc: Lebanon Can't Bear Any Delay in Electricity Plan
The Free Patriotic Movement-led Strong Lebanon bloc warned Tuesday that “Lebanon and its economy cannot bear any delay in approving the electricity plan.”
“All options are on the table” as to the tendering process, MP Ibrahim Kanaan announced after the bloc's weekly meeting.
“There is correlation between the state budget and the electricity file, which is lowering deficit,” Kanaan noted.
“Why is the state budget being delayed? It should have been already passed. We want it to be referred with reforms and the spiteful policy that we witnessed in the past should stop,” he added.
Kanaan also stressed that “there is international and local consensus on the need for financial reform through the state budget.”

The electricity portfolio has been with his side for over ten years. They refuse to take advantage of the Kuwaiti grant. They refused to take advantage of the Arab bank's grants. They refused to take advantage of the Siemens offer. They refused to take advantage of the GE offer. All these did not come with commissions and kickbacks. The Turkish ships did.
Hopefully some day we can become as civilized as Mali ;)

Israel supplies Hamas terrorists with electricity for Gaza, so could you imagine if there was peace between Lebanon and Israel how simple it would be to connect the Lebanese grid to that of Israel.
it took the great FPM 10 years to come up with an electricity plan!
