EU Condemns Stripping of Immunity from Venezuela's Guaido
The EU on Thursday condemned a decision to strip Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido of immunity from prosecution, calling it a "serious violation" of the constitution that undermined the chances of a peaceful solution to the country's crisis.
"The EU rejects the decision taken by the non-recognised National Constituent Assembly to lift Juan Guaido's parliamentary immunity," EU diplomatic chief Federica Mogherini said, in a statement on behalf of all 28 members of the bloc.

I wonder what the EU thinks of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, if that violates Lebanon's constitution. Well, we already know Mogherini has no problems with Lebanon's constitutional banning of majority rule via its Article 24 which gives half of the legislature to Christians despite their only constituting a quarter of the population and Shia Muslims constituting more than half. What does she say about Lebanon? Security and stability. What does she know about security and stability? I'd like to hear her analysis of the Yugoslavian breakup. "Oh, that was in Europe," she'd say, "We couldn't intervene, and Lebanon is a tributary of a key EU state, but nobody cares about Venezuela," she would say if pressed. Bolivar was a Venezuelan.
