Airport Technicians, Civil Aviation Employees Protest Delayed Pay

Technicians and employees at Beirut’s airport Directorate-General of Civil Aviation staged a brief protest between 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Friday against a monthlong delay in the payment of working hours, the National News Agency reported.

NNA said the protesters were keen not to disrupt the movement at the Rafik Hariri International Airport or the flight operations.

The protesters complained that they had not been paid for working night hours and extra shifts in the first two trimesters of 2019, said NNA. They were only paid for the months of February and March.

Then a corrupt minister will reassure us by lying whilst looking into our eyes and claim Lebanon isn’t bankrupt.

What public employees will protest next. My goodness I've never seen so many public employees in a tiny country like the banana republic of lebanon. This is your typical socialist country. This is what happens when you run out of other people's money. we are becoming another venezuela if we are not already.

yet instead of cutting the over bloated bureaucracy and corruption and government waste to reduce the debt, they increase taxes, so they can spend more. We are heading into an economic collapse. Only a matter of time.

They had 20 million dollars to renovate the airport but not enough dinero to pay the staff. This is total BS. The minister in charge is most certainly using the funds to build another villa somewhere.
