British Foreign Secretary: Hizbullah Poses Threat to Lebanon's Security
British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said on Tuesday that “Hizbullah poses a threat to security in Lebanon,” pointing out that the region is in need of several peace treaties.
Raab said in a joint press conference with his Israeli counterpart during a visit to Jerusalem that “Hizbullah poses a threat to security in Lebanon and Iran poses a threat to the region because of its nuclear program and the arms that support it,” according to Sky News Arabia.
The British Foreign Secretary indicated that the region needs several peace treaties, and declared his welcome to the peace treaty between the UAE and Israel.
Raab arrived Monday evening in Jerusalem, where he met with Pompeo.
He also met Netanyahu and is set o go to Ramallah to talk to Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas.
Kazan, I can’t see the sectarianism you condemn can ever be abolished. Our Constitution and laws are there to see that we live with each other in harmony, the problem is in implementation of these laws. If you believe that a majority of Christians will ever vote for a moslem president and visa versa then you live in a fantasy world, and your dreams though admirable are unrealistic.
I respect your point of view, but I see the problem and the solution from different angle. The problem I see is that an ordinary Lebanese ( follows his emotion, and not his rational) keeps choosing his political leader based on sectarian qualifications, and not based on competence. This can change , by educating the Lebanese starting at the age of 5 that We ARE ALL EQUAL , no one should have more privileges based on religion. I agree the adults NOW are conditioned to think and behave differently.Fact is it is impossible for a nation to live in harmony when it's constitution gives more privileges to one group.
I agree with Raab's sensible assessment of the true political situation in Lebanon, and the Iran/Hizb's domination.
The great steps forward made in the history of mankind, were made by individuals who challenged things that others thought impossible.
Yes Lebanon, the sectarian constitution has to change and yes the day that a moslim votes for a competent Christian and vice versa then you will be emancipated from being abused.
True, however the Lebanese system created this and all other sectarian parties, and all of them are as guilty
