Strong Lebanon Bloc Calls on Hariri to 'Resume His Work ASAP'

W300

The Free Patriotic Movement-led Strong Lebanon bloc on Tuesday called on Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri to “resume his work as soon as possible.”

“The bloc is awaiting the PM-designate to communicate with the President to form a government that respects the unity of standards,” said Strong Lebanon in a statement issued after its weekly e-meeting.

It added that the new government must be “reformist and productive in its ministers and program.”

“Accordingly, the bloc calls on the PM-designate to resume his work as soon as possible, away from any influences and in conformity with the sovereign Lebanese decision and the utmost need for the formation of a salvation government,” it urged.

God bless the Very Free and Ultra Patriotic Movement-led Super Strong Lebanon bloc for saying it as it is: "Laziness will not be tolerated and everybody must work to earn a living including the PM designate"

Had the PM position been reserved for the Shia, you would have seen Lebanon reach new heights in prosperity, hard work and stability.

Shea Shia Shea !!!

Tesla is worth $800 billion because of the potential of its engineers and the value of the company brand. Once upon a time, Lebanon was the best brand in the Middle East providing billions of added value to the economy and a magnet for investments; and the Christian community was the dynamo of this brand and the protectors of democracy, freedom and liberal economy. As Hizbollah has completely destroyed the Lebanese brand and what it stands for becoming a radioactive garbage similar with the Basij, so did Aoun and Bassil in destroying all the great values the Christian community from progress to democracy, education and tolerance; and selling Lebanon for 30 pieces of silver to the Basij for personal benefit. Aoun and Bassil are a marionette in Hizb hand doing its dirty work and destroying the Christian community potential and reputation for generations to come. At no time in history has the Christians been more humiliated, bankrupted, isolated and without hope as today.

I agree but it can be fixed will a united stance. I also don't think Hezb is the only reason it's a bunch of collective factors and failures

Reading his post i had to laugh, corruption always existed in Lebanon, lebanon was never really independent, Lebanese always lived in clans community, they are brought up we and they : " Christians, Jews, Druze, Muslims" . Lebanon is a country but (unfortunately)was never one nation. the tragedy we are witnissing now is the product of the past 6 decades .
A lot of Lebanese are "Flat-Earther".

Cedar, this is the crux of the problem and what Hizb wants us to believe. Corruption has always existed and can be tracked and punished decades later. If the 6% growth was maintained after the 2005 Cedar Revolution we would have no serious debt today and Lebanese would have dominated the new markets in the region from finance to banking, insurance, digital economy, digital security, medical, press, media, education, art, intellectual, and others. Beirut was a golden brand name attracting investment and progress. We would have been a beacon of civility, a shining path guiding Arab Spring. Hizb catastrophic impact is underestimated by all except experts in risk management. One terrorist attack in Egypt can reduce tourism and investment affecting millions. Hizb impact is 100 fold greater preventing all long term investment and creating multinational exodus destroying 90% of our potential. Useful Idiot Aoun by being a Hizb marionette is the main culprit for where we are.

Gebran: to my opinion you are too optimist and misguided or misinformed. Lebanon golden brand name ? are you kidding me? Lebanon was a fertile ground for the creation of Hizb ,hizb started in the 1980th, Lebanon's misery is a product of the feudal system, and this system created divisions among the Lebanese, and only a very small minority (<5%) of each community benefited, the rest of the population had few options to choose: 1) join a political (militia) party, 2) modern slave of the established families in Beirut, Keserouan, Chouf, Zgharta, Tripoli, Saida etc ... To be continued

to continue: or 3) Immigration, between 1920-1960 mainly immigration to Africa , and South America, during and after the Civil War of 75-90, immigration to Australia, Europe and North America. This means that the exodus of the Lebanese is not new, Lebanese are great at window dressing; statements such as "all cultures live in harmony in Lebanon" is the best example, it is a lie . After all, it is not bad and certainly not destructive to be an optimist, but to move forward one must not deny one's vulnerability and weakness.

Kazan, Kelon Yanee Kelon, yes for expunging corruption. Best achieved by replacing political mafia in next election by presenting comprehensive program backed by world organizations to restore trust and investment. For the first time in history work and capital are liberated from physical cities and practically a remote office for Google, Microsoft, Facebook and million other firms can fully operate from the tiniest villages in Lebanon. What we need is economic and political stability and joining the world economy with all legal and intellectual requirements. What I strongly differ with your reasoning is the unique potential of Lebanon which I’m convinced is similar or greater than Singapore if properly guided. We can easily be the Silicon Valley, innovation center, and intellectual hub of the region. Of course none of this is possible without disarming Hizb, replacing corrupt political class, and modernizing all government agencies and processes with clear check and balance.

Gebran , let's continue; taking into account the nature of the country I would say the potentials of Lebanon are rather like Switzerland and Monaco than Singapore, by the way something I mentioned here some months ago, to be clear the potentials are not the issue, I believe we have different view in the problem analysis, reading your comments you think by eliminating Hizb, prosperity can starts, I don't , I believe we have to eliminate the feudal tradition, and start new educational program to ensure that all the Lebanese are equal and have fair opportunities without being a soldier of the "Zaim". I believe the root cause that Lebanon became a war zone for all conflicts in the region is that the Lebanese are not united as one nation, therefore we should find ways to unite the Lebanese in order to join the civilised word. If the foundation is not strong (all as one nation) other opportunists terrorists will manifest.

You're really missing Gebran's points Kazan

Kazan, I don't disagree except for process and priorities. We are at an inflection point, zuama are largely discredited, and the economic crisis discounts the debt problem. There is less than 2 yrs to election. If few thousands successful Lebanese with proven expertise from across the world connect with competent, honest and effective Lebanese from thawra or even existing politicians known for independent thinking, honesty and patriotism to develop a comprehensive reform plan and development program (i.e. detailed business plan), a political plan insuring sovereignty and neutrality and a business plan backed by major international organizations, a plan with spelled out 100 government priorities to be immediately implemented (see my previous emails).. then those selected for election and backed by this cross-sectarian group will have a great chance of winning majority of seats (voting for plan and principles instead of people) and implementing drastic changes in record time.

Gebran, my conclusion we both wish all the best for Lebanon, through constructive critique and civilised dialogue we pave the way to achieve this goal, keep it up.
btw you mentioned up your emails, I never received an email from you, :-)
