FPM Bloc Hits Back at Miqati, Calls for Removing Salameh

W300

The Free Patriotic Movement-led Strong Lebanon bloc has snapped back at Prime Minister Najib Miqati over his defense of Central Bank Governor Riad Salameh, stressing that the governor must be “immediately removed.”

In a statement issued after its weekly meeting under FPM chief MP Jebran Bassil, the bloc called on the government to “convene and immediately remove the central bank governor and name a replacement to him, after he became weighed down by lawsuits against him in Lebanon and abroad.”

“No one goes to battle with an officer who is incompetent and accused with treachery, seeing as the war cannot be won when the one leading the army is the person who caused its collapse in the first place,” the bloc added, responding to a proverb that Miqati has used.

The premier had said Tuesday that “during war you don’t change your generals,” in response to a reporter’s question about the possibility of replacing Salameh.

Salameh is no saint but any developing country would have been extremely fortunate to have a Central Bank Governor that will stabilize the currency for two decades. This was a miracle considering during this time the criminal HizbIran and Berri were doing everything to destroy the Lebanese economy and institutions; from assassinating Hariri, Tueni, Jemayel Shateh and hundred others, to scaring away all multinational firms that made Beirut their regional headquarter with their good paying jobs, to the 2006 War to protect Hizb Arms that reduced 7% annual growth after Cedar Revolution growth to null (except 2007 & 2008 due to Gulf aid), to bankrupting Downtown Beirut by freezing government for 2 years, to the political instability cost that made long term investment impossible, to currently systematically destroying our education system and banking system. HizbIran, Aoun & Bassil are premeditated criminals that bankrupted Lebanon, assassinated a nation and should all rot in Jail.

If you Shias are so attached to Iran, go live there and let us live in peace. Lebanon is much better off without you. You bring death, destruction, and despair with your religious extremism.

Mystic, I would appreciate honest answers to these 5 questions:
1. Does Berri's policies represent the hopes and objectives of Imam Mussa Saddr?
2. If Mussa Saddr was among us in 2009-2010, wouldn't he be a prime supporter of the Green Revolution in Iran?
3. We are all for balanced development with focus on deprived regions and dignity for all. Are the Hizbollah & Berri helping the Shia community with these efforts in Lebanon and throughout the world?
4. Do you think Suleimani helped or hindered the Shia communities within the Arab world?
5. Have you met Iranian diaspora individuals and what the majority of them think of Ayatollah, the Revolutionary guards, and Iran actions?
Finally, please note that none of the dislikes on your comments are from Gebran Sons as open dialogue is fundamental for rebuilding Lebanon to benefit all communities.

Ironic this statement comes from an individual who himself is sanctioned for corruption.

As to Aoun, Bassil and FPM; let us look at two ministries they controlled: First, FPM and cronies wasted/stole close to $50 billion (including interest) for generating power. Considering solar and wind cost can show Lebanon energy can be 100% from renewable with $30 billion investment. Not to mention hydro power potential. With wasted money, new modern airport can be built with $3 billion, same for modern ports in Tripoli and Saida, a monorail from Tripoli to Tyr for $8 billion, two tunnels linking ports to Bekaa & Akar for $5 billion, a giga factory for batteries to supply the whole Middle East with $5 billion, thousands of industrial robots for few billions, even a microchip foundry employing thousands of engineers for $5 billion. Second, telecommunication where Lebanon due to its small size should have been 100% fiber optic with new cables linking to Cyprus/Europe for less than $3 billion. Bassil think Lebanese are stupid. We’ll see him in court once Lebanon is free again.

I don't want to see Bassil in court. He will manage to get out of jail after a few weeks. I would rather see him 6 feet under. Sorry for the brutality, but that's my truth.
