Germany playmaker Mesut Ozil announced he wants to see out his playing career with Real Madrid.

Ozil told German magazine Kicker that "I want to finish my career at Real Madrid," and that while he knows Real will continue signing world-class players he wants "to be part of that future."

The 23-year-old Ozil, who joined Madrid from Werder Bremen in 2010, said his side is on course to claim the Spanish title from Barcelona.

Madrid has won 15 of its last 16 league games to lead the defending champion by seven points.

Ozil said: "If we keep playing like we have recently, we can't be caught."

Ozil added he recovered last year's scintillating form after enjoying a winter break in Turkey where he "worked very hard. That's definitely paid off."
