Gemayel Requests from Napolitano that Europe Adopt Dialogue on Arab Revolutions

W300

Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel hoped on Thursday that the European Union would adopt a dialogue on the ongoing Arab revolutions.

He said after holding talks in Rome with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano: “Europe should adopt such a dialogue in order to maintain the peaceful nature of the Arab Spring and prevent it from spiraling towards permanent violence in the region.”

He stressed the importance of dialogue between the Arab world and the West “in a manner that would help bolster peace in the region, based on democracy and the need to maintain the national identity of the Arab Spring.”

Gemayel also highlighted the important role Italy is playing in the Middle East, Christian-Muslim dialogue, and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.

On Wednesday, the Phalange Party chief had held talks with Italian former Foreign Minister Franco Frattini.

He blamed Israel for the ongoing state of instability in the Middle East, saying that its rejection of peace is contributing to the emergence of extremists in the region.

Pishto,
Describing Hassan Nasralla as the only man remaining in Lebanon and mocking the Gemayel family, portrays you as either an uninformed supporter of Hassan Nasrallah, or an ennemi of Lebanon trying to create conflicts between Lebanese. I know that no true Lebanese would ever want to do that. I pray for you.
Peace!
