All-star guard Joe Johnson scored eight of his 37 points in the fourth period of overtime as the Atlanta Hawks overcame Utah 139-133 in the NBA's longest game in nearly 15 years.

Playing their third game in three days, the Hawks won their fourth consecutive and six of the last seven.

It was the longest NBA game since Phoenix defeated Portland 140-139 on November 14, 1997. It also tied for the third-longest game in NBA history.

Atlanta has a 30-20 record on the season and are half a game in front of Indiana for fifth place in the NBA Eastern Conference.

Josh Smith finished with 22 points and Jeff Teague had 18 for the Hawks who needed a marathon effort to snap Utah's six-game win streak.

Al Jefferson had 28 points and 17 rebounds while Paul Millsap finished with 25 points for Utah.
