STL Rejects Sayyed's Request to Sanction Prosecutor for Contempt, Misconduct
The Appeals Chamber of the U.N.-backed Special Tribunal for Lebanon has ruled in a decision issued Wednesday that only relevant documents that may explain why former General Security chief Maj. Gen. Jamil Sayyed was detained or why he should have been released must be disclosed by the Prosecutor, the STL announced.
“The Judges directed that the relevant documents should be disclosed by 18 May at the latest. They also decided that the Prosecutor does not need to hand over exact copies of previously disclosed documents,” the STL said.
A request by Sayyed to sanction the STL’s prosecutor for contempt and misconduct was rejected, said the tribunal.
Prior to the establishment of the STL Sayyed was detained by the Lebanese authorities for almost three and a half years as part of an investigation into the February 14, 2005 attack that killed ex-PM Rafik Hariri and 21 other people. STL Pre-Trial Judge Daniel Fransen ordered his release shortly after the tribunal’s establishment in 2009.

benzona you are an idiot. Youshould do three years with no charges because false witnesses gave false testimony against you to a politicized court. Perhaps your opinion would change if you have a brain, soul or blood in your veins. That the false witnesses are not exposed is a travesty of justice and exposes the UN and the STL as completely politicized and subservient to US and Israeliu intertest.

He shouldn't have been released. 'if' he doesn't have blood on his hands -which is hard to believe- he's guilty of corruption. 3years isn't much... At all.
