Matar Named Member of Vatican Evangelization Council

W300

Pope Benedict XVI on Wednesday appointed Maronite Archbishop of Beirut Boulos Matar to a Vatican department aimed at countering growing secularization.

The Vatican said Matar and the Archbishop of Jos in central Nigeria, Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, would be joining the Pontifical Council for the New Evangelization.

Despite the raging conflict in Syria, which has also raised tensions within Lebanon, the pope is expected to visit Beirut on September 14-16 with a message calling for peaceful coexistence between religions in the region.

Benedict created the pontifical council for new evangelization in 2010.

what God!?!

That powerful almighty up in heavens? that has created all we know? the one that controls everything? Created us all and can destroy us all?
yet! he needs our money?!?! that God?!?!

Open your eyes!

When someone sees or believes there are voices in his/her head, that lands a psychiatric asylum!
Why should it be different for those who believe and kill for God?!

They are all crazies! they all belong in psychiatric asylums!
They steal our money! and feed on poor people's hopes and dreams!
CRIMINALS!!!!!!

Not a fan of Aoun, but definitely not a fan of Islamist Salafi Fundamentalists that you seem to show favor for. Political fundamentalism is one thing (we have a country full of those) but religious fundamentalism is unwelcome and will be rooted from our country. Salafis and Islamists are taking over throughout the region, seems you and others are betting on this happening in Lebanon. It won't, because the minorities of this region, Christians, Druze, and Shiia, will never live in subservience to Wahabi radicals.

Geha... You never stop with your rubbish comments. Seriously... You claim to be a Maronite from kesouran but then comment like that! Firstly, Mattar is known to be pro LF, so your stupid comment only highlights how your only aim is division. Secondly, it doesnt matter what their personal political beliefs are. In fact, it should be completely no ones buisness... We should not care, nor hear of their personal political beliefs because politics should have no role in religion.

Lets us stop pretending to be who we are not... The republic of Lebanon needs us to unite together against the foreign wars! Sunni and Shiite civil war should not happen in Lebanon.... Lebanon is not just sunni or Shiite.... We are not Arab or middle eastern.... We are Lebanese and for once show the world that we are not pawns, but an example.

Halas Geha! Your idol Geagea is a Saint, right? He's not pushing for strife, right? He's just the one who does not even seat to the Dialogue where everybody else seat. Great example of dialogue and coexistence.
