March 14 Calls for Lebanese Complaint to Security Council over Syrian Violations

W300

The March 14 general-secretariat urged the Lebanese government on Wednesday to file a complaint with the Arab League and the U.N. Security Council against Damascus for violating Lebanese sovereignty.

“Given the deteriorating situation in Lebanon, which warns of severe consequences, the March 14 forces ask the Lebanese government to file a complaint with the Arab League and the Security Council against the Syrian government for violating Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability,” the alliance’s general secretariat said following its weekly meeting.

It urged the government to issue clear orders to the Lebanese army and the Internal Security Forces to intervene to set all the kidnapped Syrians and Turkish nationals free and pursue the abductors “no matter what parties provide them with the moral or financial support.”

The secretariat also called for expelling the Syrian ambassador from Lebanon “after the embassy became a center of management of kidnapping and bombing operations.”

The coalition justified its requests by saying that Lebanon witnessed a series of dangerous incidents since April 2012, when the Syrian regime began crumbling.

The incidents included the assassination attempt against Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea, road closures and clashes in Akkar and Tripoli, Syrian violations along the border, the attempted murder of MP Butros Harb and finally the attempt to ignite strife by handing former Minister Michel Samaha explosives to carry out bombing attacks in the country.

The kidnapping of Syrians and Turkish nationals and threats against Arabs were also part of a clear Syrian-Iranian plan to blow up the situation in Lebanon through Lebanese tools, the general-secretariat said.

Nahranet why do u put an olive branch for M14. Some M14 leaders are peaceful. But Saad el Hariri's only objective in life is to avenge the death of cheikh Rafic. He is holding the whole country hostage to reach this objective. He is the best man to represent the sunnites and yet he is gouverned by hatred (who wouldn't...) In a way he is doing like the mokdads, but in a legal way...

Allouchi, it's his opinion and we must respect it although we can disagree. Maybe, I say maybe, many people have the same views? I don't share it, but I respect it.

dialogue ya habibi allouchi, dialogue ya albeh, we achieve nothing otherwise. As offensive as his comment is, that is what he believes so we have to convince him otherwise.

Research has shown that people vote for people who give them money (directly or indirectly). Rafic Hariri was probably the greatest benefactor of the sunni Lebanese ever. There is one in almost every sunni household who benefited from his foundation. This is why he is favorite with the sunnites. The good thing is that Rafic (RIP) is moderate and patriotic, hence Sunni Lebanese are moderates and patriotic.
Saad obviously wants to get justice for the death of his father. In doing so, and due to his lack of experience, he hit right left and center and forgot about Lebanon. This is why king Abdallah dropped him, bankrupted Oger, and this is why he lost the premiership. If he focused on Lebanon, we wouldnt have the party of weapons controlling the country now.

Allouchi, People have different opinions because maybe they know things you don't. I am sorry for you that you have to live your life with such a low IQ. If insults make you stand your misery better, let it be.

Saad Hariri is a philanthropist, just like his father, but was far less money that Rafiq to make everyone's dream come true.

@ lebanon_first , not defending Hariri, but he knows who killed his father since 2005, he could have light up the country like a match if he wanted to with all his money and connections. He didnt , instead i would agree he might be helping the FSA a bit, but come on, to say his is paying for fighters and stuff, saudi arabia or qatar dont need his few billions, they already own half europe and many countries... he might be paying for their treatments and stuff. And by the way he left the governement in 2010 without even a fight even before the syrian events. i can only imagine if Michel Aoun, frangieh, or Geagea had 1/10th of his connections or possibilites, the country would be a living hell now.
