Aoun: Security Agencies who Deny my Assassination Attempt May Be Linked to it
Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun condemned on Tuesday doubts that he may have been the victim of an assassination attempt, saying that “some sides have stooped so low as to question the affair.”
He added after the Change and Reform bloc's weekly meeting: “Security agencies that deny the attempt on my life may be linked to it.”
In addition, he slammed claims that said that incident was aimed at bolstering his popularity ahead of the 2013 parliamentary elections.
“There is physical evidence and judiciary to prove the matter,” said the lawmaker.
Aoun's decoy convoy came under gunfire on Saturday night, with the MP saying that three bullets hit one of the cars.
Conflicting reports had emerged over the exact location of the incident.
Aoun was returning from a tour of the southern region of Jezzine when the attack happened.
He revealed that this is the fourth attempt against his life.
Furthermore, he said that he did not believe that Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea was a victim of an assassination attempt, saying that he is basing his opinion on technical evidence.
“I was the victim of a failed attack on my life. It was not simply a message,” stated the FPM leader.
“Who said that the vehicle that was targeted was not armored?” he wondered.
Perhaps the attacker only wanted to halt the convoy and once it did more shots would be fired at it, speculated Aoun.

Your answer as to why you are so ubiquitous to the Naharnet site might be convincing if it weren't for the fact that no person with a real job can spend as much time as you do reading and responding to forum comments. I consider myself an avid reader of Naharnet but there is no way I can hold my job and do what you do, just not enough time.
Therefore the only logical conclusion is that this IS your job. You are paid to do this and hence you are nothing but a mouth piece for M18. Especially when all of a sudden we started seeing so many thumbs down. All new readers who agree with you, possible though not very likely especially since they magically appear when a news piece is about Aoun.

This is the first time you respond in a polite manner to my responses to your comments. I never have, nor ever will, reduce my responses to a low level consisting of insults and uncivilized put downs to you or anyone else. Hope you reciprocate in the same way for the future.
We agree on some things (independence, democracy and better future for Lebanon) and can and do disagree on how to go about accomplishing those goals. That is the typical discourse amongst civilized and democratic people. Though our approaches differ, both of us must beware the slippery slopes of denigrating the others views, slandering the other or worse stigmatizing them as traitors. You may not agree but that is how I see HA's behavior and Aoun's unfortunately.
History is like beauty in the eyes of the beholder. One man's freedom fighter is another's terrorist it all hinges onperspective and philosophy as am sure you will agree. Keep your opinions coming and I will keep checking them ;-)
