11 Hurt in Fresh Ain el-Hilweh Clashes, Maqdah Denies Presence of al-Nusra Front
At least 11 people were injured on Tuesday in renewed gunfights at the Ain el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near the southern city of Sidon, the National News Agency reported.
"Fighting has ended in Ain el-Hilweh and we're now investigating the circumstances of the incident," al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades commander Munir al-Maqdah told Radio Voice of Lebanon (100.5) later on Tuesday.
"The situation will not deteriorate and we will not allow any party to drag the camp into the abyss," Maqdah added.
"We're exerting efforts to prevent dragging the camp into a scheme similar to the scheme against the (Palestinian) camps in Syria," Maqdah announced, denying the presence of the al-Qaida-linked al-Nusra Front in the camp.
The Fatah leader noted that the Palestinian factions all agree on the need to preserve security in the camp and the surrounding areas.
NNA said that the fighting erupted between the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command and the supporters of Bilal Badr at al-Fawqani neighborhood in the camp.
The gunmen used machineguns and mortar shells in the fighting which came a day after one person was killed and several others injured.
Ain el-Hilweh residents later held a march to ask for an end to the infighting.
Monday's gunfight erupted between Fatah al-Islam and Fatah after Bilal Badr, a former Fatah al-Islam member, was targeted in a shooting.
Ain el-Hilweh, the largest Palestinian camp in the country, is home to about 50,000 refugees and is known to harbor extremists and fugitives.
By long-standing convention, the Lebanese army does not enter the country's 12 refugee camps, leaving security inside to the Palestinians themselves.

servant of jesus, go visit any refugee camp in lebanon and you will find a nice humble people, the extremists and thugs are a minority and we lebanese have more such extremists and thugs than they do but when our thugs and extremists create problems, we dont blame ourselfs, we only blame them but if a palestinian does something then all palestinians are to blame. This mentality turned many lebanese in to animals who want to gas men, women and children. And we will see the same evil come out of lebanese when the topic is about syrians. Pray for lebanon because God might strike us with a huge punishment because of animals like flamethrower and others.

Flamer- I am not going to give you a lecture on what it is to be human. I am going to ask you what you plan on doing with the innocent people trapped in there that never had a choice. The children who never had a chance to know what life outside the camp is? The people who harbor no hate and wish nothing more than to integrate with society and would never harm you or anyone? How do you distinguish between those people and the low lives that are running that place and deserve the death penalty? Are they all casualties of war? Expendable if the end justifies the means for your benefit?

I Dont quite agree with the maltusian approach to have palestinians self destruct. However I dont understand why they dont take them in GCC. They hire thousands and millions of indian workers in Dubai and Saudi. Why dont they take the arab palestinians?

also Kudos for Hariri's government for the 2007 fight against nahr el bared. For the first time in that war sunnites in lebanon put Lebanon before sunnism, and hence became as patriotic as christians. We still have to convince the dear chiite community to drop the iranian agenda represented by their milicia in chief and start thinking lebanon.

in 1978 the lebanese forces were heroes who prevented the syrian army from taking the christian sector. In 1992 samir geagea outlasted his usefulness and became a war criminal.
In 2000 Hezbollah was a lebanese hero who prevented israeli implementation in south lebanon. In 2008 Hezbollah outlasated his usefulness and in may, Hezbollah became iranian agenda criminals.

So when lebanese salafists make problem, its the fault of the salafists, not lebanese. If a lebanese secularist pro hariri or pro bashar makes problem, its the fault of bashar or hariri (depending on if you are march14 or march8) but when a palestinian salafist or secular makes a problem, all of a sudden all palestinians are to blame. The kind of guests that were locked up in camps denied even minimum human rights? The kind of guests that brought in more money to lebanon than what they take. The kind of guests that were given a green light by the lebanese leaders to stay armed. The kind of guests that are forced to live in complete misery while we pretend we have given them milk and honey when in reality since they first got here they have been treated like non-humans.
