March 14 Figures Stress on Coalition's Unity in Center House Talks

W300

March 14 figures held talks at the Center House on Wednesday to stress on the coalition's unity and discuss the upcoming period in Lebanon following the cabinet's resignation.

“The meeting comes as a confirmation of the unity of the March 14 forces at this critical stage that Lebanon is going through,” a statement released by the Center House said.

It explained that the meeting aims at coordinating positions in the coalition regarding several issues, among them naming a premier to head the new cabinet, reaching consensus over an electoral law and stressing on the “importance of holding the parliamentary elections on time”.

NBN television reported on Wednesday that around 56 of the coalition's figures are participating in the talks.

It noted: “March 14's discussions will be followed by talks and a meeting for the coalition's leaders”.

Meanwhile, MTV said the discussions focused on the importance of holding dialogue sessions and consultations on the new cabinet, favoring starting with the latter one first.

“There are two views on the cabinet's composition and the dominant one supports a neutral government,” MTV revealed.

Prime Minister Najib Miqati announced last week his resignation after a cabinet session in which he failed to pass the extension of Internal Security Forces chief Ashraf Rifi's term and the formation of the committee to oversee the elections, stressing that all political forces must shoulder their responsibilities to “pull Lebanon out of the unknown”.

M14 is once again demonstrating democracy in action by displaying cohesiveness of belief and purpose even in the face of different opinions which is very normal in a healthy democracy.
One hopes this time they make fewer if any mis-steps. May the wind be at your backs.

The security events in lebanon of the past 2 weeks were instigated by M14. Now that the government resigned, (by instructions of the west) the security situation calmed.... magically. Amazing that even those "gentlemen" resort to undercover street action.
Hopefully this time they will participate in a national union government, and not snob the prime minister like they did when mikati begged them to join.

How about a Government of national unity that excludes both M8 and M14? I want Lebanon to rise 365 days a year and not depend on the two dates mentioned above.

Well said and totally agree ... we are not M8 & M14 ... we are Lebanese and should act as such ... being boxed in and conditioned that if you do not support M8 then you are M14 and the opposite is true is just idiotic ... We need to understand that the majority in Lebanon are Lebanese who do not care much about 8 or 14. I want Lebanon 365 ... I support you!

a clan of garbage dogs gathered around fighting, barking, killing each other for a bone, thrown their way by hizballah; to distract their attention, -now open your eyes and laugh out load
