Israel: Next War with Hizbullah Will Be Ten Times Fiercer than 2006 Conflict

W300

Israel expected on Friday that the next war with Hizbullah will be completely different than the July 2006 conflict.

Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command Chief Major General Eyal Eisenberg warned that the next war with the party will be ten times fiercer than the 2006 one.

He also predicted than Israel will be bombarded with ten times more rockets on a daily basis by Hizbullah than the rate it was targeted with seven years ago.

He noted that prior to 2006, Hizbullah was capable of launching 500 rockets at Gush Dan in Israel, but it failed to do so because the Israeli air force destroyed Iran's Fajr rockets within the first few days of the war.

Should a war erupt today, continued Eisenberg, he said that Gush Dan would be the target of some 5,000 Hizbullah rockets.

The first few days of the next conflict will be very difficult and we are prepared for a scenario that witnesses the launching of 2,000 rockets at a daily basis, he added.

Israel is not seeking such a war as it will be futile for it and the other side, he remarked.

Israel knows how to incur greater damage against its enemies than they do against it because of its air force's possession of more destructive and accurate weapons, Eisenberg explained.

Both sides will be harmed from the conflict, but Israel is more capable of swiftly recovering form it, he stressed.

These bastards will intentionally kill our civilians & destroy our infrastructure, another few billion we dont have, ruin out tourism, scare away investment, For what? what is the root cause? For Jihad? Israel is a threat, I agree, and we need hezbs weapons to counter them, but they must be under the control of he government, not Kahamnie.

Humm, I sure hope those Australian, American and Canadian evacuation ships show up quickly this time around or else we'll be up shiite creek without a poodle.

Israel is relying on its airforce. haha...lol. I have stiches from laughter. Bring your airforce on Kyke! You will get an appropriate reply. Since the Zionists like to hear religious talk and tried to use religion to divide and conquer...well this is coming from a Christian.

Israel and Iran can shove it, they've brought enough problems into Lebanon, same with the FSA and the regime, none of them have any respect for Lebanon and it's people who want to live peacefully. Thanks for turning the country into your playground...

Next war, Lebanon's mountains will be flattened.... More civilian casualties too thanks to hezb-ebola hiding their rockets in densely populated areas.

You seem concerned on what might be happening in the future without worry on what is currently happening. I do not agree with you on your evaluation of HA as you seem very confident that they will eventually turn in their weapons. I hope you are right but will not sit here and keep quiet and hope they do. When in fact, a person would have to burry his/her head in the sand not see the murders/assassination they’ve committed. The only reason they can keep doing so is because their weapons protect them. Before we worry about salafists entering the country and residing in tripoli, how about we worry about the 800 lb gorrilla in the room first while keeping in mind that we have to be vigilant of whatever else could harm our country in the future?

Akkar, I'll go ahead and answer: Wahhabi and Salafi ideologies are simply alien to our Levantine culture. They don't belong here. They must and will be resisted.

I get what you are saying and you know I respect your opinion Phoenix. I will disagree with you on the approach of taking the lessor of two evils. Once we get to that point then we start accepting the idea that we should keep our head down, our mouth shut, and be treated as second class citizens because the alternative is worse. Isn’t that the argument assad supporters seems to be showering everyone with? I will not accept that. I will not support HA in fear of the alternative when they have committed crimes they should be held accountable for. BTW- who is to say that by weakening HA we are strengthening wahabis or salafist hell bent on killing everyone? How does one connect to the other? Are you saying we need HA for protection? That is the army’s job and it our job as citizens to strengthen the army. Anyway, that’s my opinion and the direction I would like to see my country go.

Thumb LEBhasNOhope 11 years

you make a lot of valid points. I don't have issues with shias as the state has truly failed them (in our sectarian ways) and that gave rise to HA. Who could blame them? However, I see your position is directly attributed to the notion that the salafists and wahabis are coming and want to wipe everyone off the face of the earth. I just don’t see that happening in Lebanon simply because there are too many moderate sunnis, Christians, druze and shia. I am not waging war on HA but as a country we will always remain a failed state as long militias are stronger than the army. I cannot support someone who plants bombs in order to win elections. Have a good night my friend as it is getting pretty late.

The role of governments is to protect the people and to avaoid wars if it does not have the military capabilities to defend them.
A "resistance" is only needed when there is no government and the country is under occupation.
When Hezbollah postures and threatens it is only bypassing the responsible decisions of a central government and exposing Lebanon to destructive wars. It is not how many rockets they could launch but how they could prevent israel from retaliating.
We should be grateful that the decision makers in Israel do not follow the same logic of how many rockets they could launch randomly, if they did no stone in lebanon will be left standing.

They don't like Islam. They call salami or wahabi. As a Muslim , I'll tell you were brothers with shia, or Druze, Christians. Just remember you folks were always minorities. And the demographics will be changed soon. Wait and see 10 years from now how Lebanon will be

So you can trust hezb Iran . So why don't you become a member then? Hezb Iran did and is committing acts of genocide in Syria this moment we speak. They rape the women and slaughter children. You are a criminal like them because you are defending a terrorist criminal group that has no value for human life. There taught hate from a young age. It's indoctrinated into this sick cult. They actually think killing Muslims is there jihadi duty. You a retarded if you can't see why there may some extreme elements fighting in Syria right now. What do you expect the people to get slaughtered like chickens. Anyone who has a free mind and even an ounce of humanity can see and recognize the injustice and oppression that is occurring to those oppressed people. And don't give me that crap about hezb Iran. They were in the killing right from the beginning and even though nasr ibless kept on denying it.

Phoenix with all due respects, I think you went a bit to far.
The fact that HA at this stage are trying to avert a confrontation because they are busy elsewhere doesn't diminish the fact they are the most destructive force to Lebanon, its people and its economy. They dealt ruthlessly with an unarmed opposition. You and I know that they were directly or indirectly involved with all the assassinations in the past. So in your view of taking the side of the lesser evil is not the solution. HA was and will always be a destructive force for their sect and thus Lebanon.

Alqaida, Taliban, alnusra, fatah el Islam, alqaida in Iraq, etc... All are salafist groups who have shown us how they govern areas under their control.

The real question is y does Saudi fund them?... Maybe to keep them from attacking the gulf?? Idk

Phoenix could be a journalist, a UN worker, or part of an NGO or in another line of work that requires travel to areas of conflict. He could be a writer or a researcher. No need to deride him with name-calling.
I agree with most of what Phoenix says, but I don't think that keeping HA's army under HA's command is the best solution. I argue for putting HA's military wing at the service of the entire nation by making it an integral part of the Army and thus under the EXCLUSIVE authority of the state. This will contribute to uniting the country and to making it much more defendable. I don't want to see HA's military wing dismantled. This is an effective fighting force that should be turned into a national resource. Let those fighters make a good living and a career at the service of the state instead of relying on the financial support of a foreign country. It is a win-win situation.
Al Masi7 kam, hakkan kam. Happy Easter and prayers of peace and unity to all my countrymen.

allying with hezbollah is to live in denial... thinking they are good lebanese and moderate!
they do not want to take over lebanon and make it an islmaic state: it is more subtle than that. hezbis prefer to pull the strings in the dark and let others do the dirty job at their orders so that they stay clean in the eyes of people! if they face or try to directly seize power it will not be in the interests of iran who need hezbis to be a "threat" in the eyes of the israelis. they ve already placed key people at their orders in sensitive positions so that the state will not queston to much their illegal activities. they are already a state in lebanon...

thinking they are not extremists ? LOL and big LOL!
but only blind people don t see it or FPMers....
