Foreign Ministry Begins Preparing Memo on Syrian Violations

W300

Caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour revealed on Tuesday that his ministry is awaiting a report from the Army Command on the recent Syrian violations against Lebanon.

He said that the ministry is preparing the memo on the violations, which it will present to the Arab League.

In addition, he later contacted Lebanon's permanent representative at the United Nations Security Council Nawwaf Salam to request that he commence the necessary contacts with the concerned sides to prepare for an emergency meeting on Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

On the Lebanese nationals kidnapped in Nigeria, the minister said that no new developments have taken place in the case.

Imad al-Indari and Carlos Abu Aziz are among seven foreigners who were kidnapped in a deadly raid on a construction site in northern Nigeria in February.

The Islamist group Ansaru claimed responsibility for the abduction.

Two people were killed and four others wounded in when rockets fired from Syria landed in al-Qasr and Hosh al-Sayyed Ali regions in Lebanon on Sunday.

A ministerial security meeting held on Monday at the Baabda Palace to address the shelling agreed to file a complaint with the Arab League to ask for its assistance in confronting the attacks.

The deaths are not the first time that Lebanese citizens have been killed by cross-border fire coming from Syria. In February, at least one Lebanese man was killed by gunfire from the Syrian side of the border.

Since the Syrian uprising began in March 2011, there have been numerous deadly clashes along the northern and eastern borders of Lebanon, usually between the Syrian army and armed Syrian or Lebanese groups backing the uprising.

Ahah! "Begins Preparing"... I stopped reading there. It means it will never happens. Probably he is right now sitting with his dear friend AAKA for advice on the draft... And the result will be an official protest from the Syrian Embassy about weapons being smuggled from Lebanon with no control from the state... Joke, joke, joke!

Yea yea, take your time guys, no rush, by the time the so called memo is ready, there won't be any border village left anymore. If Adnan is doing it, its in good hands then.

Mansour believes in the following cliche: يللي عند أهلو على مهلو

Isn't it strange that the Lebanese government has finally decided to do something about Syrian violations of Lebanese territory? Why didn't it do as much when the Syrian army was the culprit? Why did it wait for the Syrian opposition to attack before it woke up? The world will ignore the Lebanese complaint because it will not take it seriously, just as the Lebanese did not take the Syrian government's attacks seriously.
