Israel 'Hopes' New Lebanese Govt. Will Honor Resolution 1701

Israel’s foreign ministry said Wednesday the Jewish state hopes Lebanon's new government will respect international law and borders and contribute to regional stability.

After five months of negotiations, Prime Minister-designate Najib Miqati announced a new government on Tuesday, with Israel’s arch-foe Hizbullah and its allies dominating the line-up.

"Israel hopes that the new Lebanese government will contribute to reinforcing regional stability and respect for the law along its border," the ministry said.

"Israel expects the Lebanese government to apply United Nations Security Council resolutions, in particular resolution 1701, and it calls for the resolution of all outstanding issues through negotiations and with mutual respect," it added.

U.N. resolution 1701 ended a 2006 war between Israel and Hizbullah that killed more than 1,200 Lebanese, mostly civilians, and more than 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers. It did not lead to a permanent ceasefire agreement.

When has israel honored resolution 1701? It's been 5 years and they still haven't retreated from the village of ghajjar. They breach lebanese sovereignty on a daily basis with their war planes flying within Lebanese airspace. So thank you Israel for your hopes and expectations... Would you like to hear ours?

This is the funniest joke ever published on Naharnet. It deserves the biggest HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The myth of the brightness of the Israelis is also put to rest once and for all. The Israelis have become analogous to a man with Alzheimer's.
