UNIFIL spokesman Neeraj Singh said that the international force has informed the Lebanese army that the Israeli army will stage military exercises along its internal front, As Safir newspaper reported on Saturday.

“The Israeli army will carry out military drills between June 19 and 26,” he announced.

He told the newspaper that these are routine maneuvers that are being carried out for the fifth year in a row.

“The Israeli army assured us that the maneuvers are part of civil defense training at the national level and don’t pose any threats to Lebanon,” the spokesman said.

Meanwhile, As Safir reported that the Lebanese army halted on Friday an Israeli attempt to kidnap a cattle-herder, Alaa Nabaa, as he was tending his flock in the area of Jabal Sadanah, adjacent to the barbed-wire fence at the northern outskirts of the occupied Shebaa farms.
