The Gebran Tueni Foundation held its first annual evening at The Congressional Palace in Dbayeh Friday, honoring a number of great artists and young talents like Wadih Safi, Sami Khayyat, and Raymond Gebara.

A number of Lebanese MPs and other officials attended the event.

During the ceremony, Gebran Tueni’s daughter Michelle stressed in a statement on the circumstances that led to the launching of the foundation which she said aims at “reviving Gebran’s ideas among all the youth.”

Michelle pointed out that her father used to “consider the youth as the backbone of the nation,” stressing that the “foundation will also care for honoring great artists.”

Videos of slain Gebran Tueni were projected on a screen, with recordings of his voice echoing through the auditorium.

Many artists, like Aline Abboud, the Four Musqeteers, Michel and Nawal Kesserwani, Dolly Sfeir, Elia Francis, and Dolly Rahbani took part in this evening.
