Nasrallah to Make Two Televised Appearances to Mark End of July 2006 War

W300

Hizbullah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah is scheduled to make two televised appearances this week to commemorate the end of July 2006 war with Israel , al-Joumhouria newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The first appearance for Nasrallah will be in an interview on Wednesday with the pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV network.

He will also make a televised speech on Friday on the occasion in the southern town of Aita al-Shaab.

The report didn't focus on the issues that Nasrallah will address in his two appearances.

Israel fought a devastating 33-day war against Hizbullah in 2006 that cost the lives of 1,200 people in Lebanon, mainly civilians, and 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers.

Great the underground stooge, will be on twice this week... to remind every one about the Divine Victory... Let us remind you of your immortal words "if only I knew"... this time you are inviting the Jihadist and Syrian rebels into Lebanon... and for the same reason as last time, your boss in Iran told you too.

Perhaps he will give us a guided tour of the underground bunker he has been hiding for the past 7 years, in since his most successful "Victory" against Israel.
It is interesting to note that this article specifically states that Israel's war in 2006 was against Hizballah and not the Government of Lebanon.

philippo did you like his 35 minutes of live speech right next to the border a couple of weeks ago? i'm sure you could see him from your side of the border :)

Southern - can't you write a comment without insulting other people?
Believe it or not, a quite comment can be made without making stupid allegations. Maybe you are filthy, but I am not. I am not even going to comment on the Zionist comment, as in many parts of the world it is a complement not an insult. There are in the world millions of declared Zionists who are not Jewish, there are even some Arabs who think that way.

Thumb _mowaten_ over 10 years

southern please behave, "zionist" is a very rude insult

Only in Lebanon, heads of terrorist organizations like Nasrallal make appearances on TV.

Thumb _mowaten_ over 10 years

the head of the resistance movement that repeatedly humiliated israel is bound to be called a terrorist by israel's slaves, but that is only a sign of how sore he made them :)

We need to celebrate the divine victory of 2006 every year and tell the future generations how a handful of holy shia warriors defeated the mightiest army in the world by destroying its infrastructure (bridges, telecom, airports), economy, and 23 Merkava tanks. Yes after all is said and done, Israel was at the Litani river, our airport was closed, and our waters under siege by the israeli navy and half of Lebanon was flattened, but we know we won the war and taught those zionists a lesson in resistance. Israel was begging for a cease fire and Saniora gave it to them. The Islamic Shia Only Resistance is ready to defend Lebanon and minorities in the levant and the Israelis better be careful in the next war coz a world of pain is going to open up for them. We, the Shia of Ali Ibn Taleb will never rest until all of Palestine is liberated and the state of Israel is annihilated and with it the state of Lebanon.

Just please don't celebrate by having more kids !

I cant tell if flamethrower is kidding or not. Hezb destroyed no Israeli airports, bridges, or any iIsraeli infrastructure. Israel has become a tech powerhouse, and top echelon economy, while lebanon sinks into the abyss. As a tongue in cheek comment on the destruction hezb has cost lebanon, it makes sense.

Hmm, that may be it then.

Thumb _mowaten_ over 10 years

he's trying to be sarcastic, but although the war costed lebanon a lot, it costed israel more. 5 billion $ just in economic losses because they had to sit in shelters for a month. the point is not to have destroyed more infrastructure than they did, the point is to give them something to think about for a while before they attack us again, and it's been 7 years that they are "thinking" about it, the longest period since 40 years without israeli attacks

Can someone convince me of the rational behind labeling the armed faction of Hizbullah as "resistance"? Resisyance against what and against who? Israel? Chebaa farms represent at the most 30 square kilometers and are uninhabited. Are they worth having a private army (not to call it militia) creating all these problems in the country? Some years back, Germany suggested to play the role of mediator between Lebanon and Israel in order to solve the Shebaa Farms issue, avoiding direct talks between Lebanon and Israel. Why don't we go for this appraoch and finalize this matter, and integrate into the Lebanese army the armed Hizbullah members who are ready to join... Maybe I'm dreaming???

I really dont understand why, naharnet has to mention these kind of article ,who cares if nasralla is gonna talk or he is gonna get a heart attack, lets face it ,this guy is not more than a psychic ,criminal terrorist iranian agent,he was brainwashed by his religion and came into lebanon to bother the whole country, the palestinians doese not need him,the lebanese does need him,the whole middle est does not need him,he is worth absolutely nothing in politic and he is here with his fellow just to terror the entire area, and you naharnet keep posting every article of this person ? Just imagine everyone lebanon without hizballa and without this man, naharnet i suggest you , post better article than this psychic speech cuz trust me the majority of the lebanese and the rest of the middle east are NOT interested to read this garbage, and please do not remove my post thank you.

Thumb Senescence over 10 years

Well, some of us live in Lebanon you know, and so cannot ignore this kind of thing, basically because what he says will directly impact the lives of the citizens in one way or another, and so they must take the appropriate provisions and such.

Thumb _mowaten_ over 10 years

as you said: "the lebanese does need him" :)

and yes i imagine all the time Lebanon without Hezbollah and Sayyed Nasrallah, our villages would have been renamed with hebrew names and we'd be in no better shape than gaza or the west bank

Thumb _mowaten_ over 10 years

ps: if people werent interested his speeches wouldnt systematically be n1 on the most read list of naharnet, would they? :) even an article announcing his speeches makes it to the most read list, while geagea's speech (also posted 8 hours ago) didnt. (ouch!)

The standard of living in the West Bank is higher than in quite a few of the non-Gulf Arab States. Ask any Egyptian, Syrian, Libyan or Yemeni in the street. Look at UN Statistics, if you don't believe them.

When the government cannot provide basic sustenance, security, adequate economic conditions, etc. people run to their sect for such accommodations. It has always been the case, and the fact that leaders are exploiting their followers and themselves are in the feudal mentality still, it will remain as such I say.

I wish they chewed out his butt then retreated back to the borders, but that would have made Lebanon a real State which is not good for Israel. Lets keep feeble minds imagining an illusionary victory.

Thumb cityboy over 10 years

the100phoenix. your hate towards nasrallah is really clouding your interpretation of events. Have you forgetting all the Israeli soldiers crying as they were returning across the border. You say Hezbollah was in retreat and Israel was ready to advance all the way to Beirut if they wanted to. what are you smoking, if that were the case, why is Israel so itching for a rematch but is reluctant for fear of making bigger fools than they did the first time around in 06. As for Sanoria, oh please as if Israel really cares for what sanoria has to say.

Thumb Machia over 10 years

I wonder why local media fall into the trap of Hezbollah propaganda. Nasrallah should be treated lik any other politician. Anyway his speeches are so predictable: Idrael, enemy, victory, keep our weapons, smirk, smirk, I am very witty, religion, we are great, etc.
Nothing about the economy, vision for a thriving Lebanon, a better life for the Lebanese, just war talk. What a waste of time.

If the whole world (except Hizballah) says that as all of Ghajar is across the Hasbani (the internationally recognised border between Lebanon and Syria), then all of Ghajar is Syrian.
