Phalange Party Urges Hizbullah to 'Return' to Lebanon, Facilitate Cabinet Formation

W300

The Phalange Party on Monday called on Hizbullah to withdraw its fighters from war-torn Syria and take part in producing a "made in Lebanon" new cabinet.

"Given the security threats in the country, which are linked to the repercussions of the Syrian crisis, the Phalange Party calls for a drastic approach towards the obstacles that are hindering the formation of the new cabinet,” the party's political bureau said in a statement issued after its weekly meeting.

“The politburo calls on Hizbullah to return to its normal place in Lebanon and take part in producing a 'made in Lebanon' cabinet that would be vested with the broadest powers to guarantee security and stability and fend off strife,” it added.

The party renewed its strong condemnation of the Tripoli bombings, voicing solidarity with the city and its leaders and residents and warning that the “bleak situation” and “creeping sedition” require an “urgent salvation initiative.”

The conferees also expressed their relief over “the broad national solidarity in the face of the tragedy,” hailing “the rhetoric of Tripoli, which rose above the pain and rejected the phenomenon of vigilante groups.”

The party described President Michel Suleiman's call as a “valid roadmap to exit the crisis, especially in terms of abiding by the Baabda Declaration and gathering in an inclusive government and in the national dialogue committee,” urging all parties to heed the presidential call without “warnings or preconditions.”

Unfortunately, we the middle-easterner, don't have a win-win approach, the HA party furthermore with its name related to Allah and its logo, a machine gun associated to the name Alla cannot make any compromises.

Lebanon has a mission in this world : to show that 18 religions can coexist in a very small country, that is its strengh. HA is unfortunatly against this mission, it is dragging Lebanon to distructions, with its holy wars, its holy victories its holy arms....and there is nothing we can do about it,it is Iran's will, we should all maybe leave Lebanon to Iran and emigrate... Gebran K Gebran was right when he said that all religious people in Lebanon should be doomed...& not meddle in politics or much less in dragging us to wars

...and when they "return" the Phalanges will welcome them with open arms, tie them up and hand them over to the takfiris, aka Dr. Arreet 7akeh's minnohou! Call it the return of the prodigal son, no?

Whether or not you like the Kataebs, you'll need to understand them. Understand what they stand for and why. Generally speaking, with an organization like the Kataebs, you are either with them or they will crush you. Such organizations are most often then not very nationalistic and patriotic with full allegiance to national interests. In the case of the Kataebs, they appear to have genuine interest to keep Lebanon’s identity and values unfettered by foreign interference. I think, initially, when they found themselves in the center of things as one of the few parties that needed to defend the country against the invaders, they got arrogant, reckless and scared to a point where in order to win the war, they thought they could do it at all costs.

Along the way, they failed to separate the helpless people from their puppet masters and failed to cultivate what those people could have contributed to the common cause and divisions were created. I think they now have a better understanding of what needs to be done to save the identity and culture of Lebanon.

-tonnyfarris, I believe he's providing genuine criticism while acknowledging their important role in current affairs and history also. No need to jump to insults so abruptly.

And I agree, they've been the only party who have not budged an inch in regards to their goal, what they preach, and what they're all about. Pure patriotism and ultranationalism is exactly what is required in the days ahead, which will be stained with blood from terrorists, collaborators, spies, and traitors.

The reason I made the above criticisms is because the Kataeb's mission to save Lebanon is genuine, they got a bad rap for some of their mistakes, and people who don't know better need to be educated re. the true facts whether good or bad and rally with them.

Tony, you most likely did not read my comments carefully. I am not a member of or have any connection with the party and/or its religious background (not that I am attacking the Shiite religion) that brought the Persians to Lebanese lands. If we've read my previous comments, you'll know that I have nothing good to say regarding the Persians, and their long arms need to be cut off from Lebanon. If you read my comments a second time more carefully, you'll see that our views do not contradict re. the stance and/or achievements of the Kataebs. You may possess more detailed historical background about them than I do, but, rest assured, I am not in any shape or form creating a smoking mirror to hide all the heroic actions and the good things they've done for Lebanon.

Hizbullah is not asking Lebanon if they can go to war.Or send a drone ,The way I see is Lebanon or lebanese people they don`t need to ask Hizbullah what kind of government we want ,Just go ahad and form a government without them,No need to ask ,

It is very simple, those who do not agree with you can go to Iran and search for freedom of speech or live there instead going to Europe or the U.S.
