Kuwaiti Nationals to Be Evacuated from Beirut on Tuesday

W300

Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdul Al al-Qinai announced on Tuesday that a Kuwaiti Airways plane is scheduled to arrive in Beirut later at night to evacuate Kuwaiti nationals from the country due to the rising tensions in the region over the Syrian conflict, reported the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

The ambassador explained that the evacuation was part of “Kuwaiti efforts to guarantee the safety of its people in Lebanon.”

He told KUNA that a number of planes were dedicated to the evacuation, saying that the Kuwaiti Embassy in Lebanon had opened an office at the Rafik Hariri International Airport to facilitate the operations.

Over 300 Kuwaitis have been evacuated from Lebanon over the past few days, he added.

The ambassador had stressed on Friday the need to evacuate Kuwaitis from Lebanon after revealing that a Kuwaiti diplomat was searched at an “unofficial checkpoint.”

Saudi Arabia had filed a complaint to the Foreign Ministry after one of its embassy vehicles in Lebanon was searched by Hizbullah members at a checkpoint near its stronghold of Dahieh in Beirut's southern suburbs last week.

Diplomats in the car were also searched before being allowed to return on their way.

Hizbullah had stepped up its security measures in and around Dahieh after a bombing in the area on August 15.

At least 27 people were killed and 280 wounded in the attack.

I really don't understand how the GCC and all it's financial support through tourism and through the Banking institute of Lebanon are your traitors ?

I was a Kuwaiti student who graduted from LAU back in the days. I personally lived in Beirut for seven years and had not one single problem. On the contrary I made a lot of Lebanese friends from various sects and regions, who are still good friends today.

Moreover the Lebanese community in Kuwait is a big one. This community lives very happily and safely here with the exact benefits the Kuwaiti citizen has. The lebanese community in Kuwait vary between merchants, teachers and students - we have all the respect for your people.

The people of Kuwait have only respect and love for your country and wish you wellness. It saddens us that Lebanon has these constant issues. It also saddens and disappoints me to see hate for my country and for my people on this site repeatedly.

Why the hate ?

@Hamad
There is no hate towards you or the likes of you , period . I appreciate your comment & have made me proud . I also would like to apologise if I have insulted you in any way .
Having said that, I would like you to understand where I'm coming from, the KSA & GCC states have had an influence upon us Lebanese , they have divided us & also supported Salafists / Wahibist in our country as well as our neighbours . Thus in turn this has created havoc in our country especially among the Islamic community ( ie between the Sunnis & Shias') . Your government seems to us as pawns , whenever there is a dispute it also threatens us with tourism & investments in our country , we are sick & tired of these threats & it insults us as a nation . At the end we are fed up been treated as if we are mere servants , but we still have our pride . We just don't want you money at all if you are going to treat us in this manner .
Signed Wolf .

Dramatic way, reason behind which is to Create panic in lebanon. There Is no need to send planes to evacuate anyone. There are over 4 daily flights connecting Bey with Kuwait. People can book on scheduled flights, and those who can not afford to, the Kuwaiti gov. Can provide them with tickets. Remains much cheaper and effective than chartering planes. Special office at bey airport? It I not heathrow or JFK! Very small and efficient aiport, one needs to be 60 min. Before dep. the airport.
This whole thing is a show!

When Lebanon is good, everyone comes to experience the joy of the country, when help is needed, who comes? The Lebanese are worthy of more.
