Suleiman Satisfied with Cabinet Performance, Says Duty of Everyone to Support it

W300

President Michel Suleiman has expressed satisfaction with the cabinet’s performance saying it was the duty of all parties to support it in its efforts to meet the people’s demands.

Suleiman has told his visitors that the government was in harmony and was not witnessing clashes between the different parties. The cabinet should be described as centrist although it expresses a one-sided viewpoint.

Premier Najib Miqati’s government is working in the interest of all Lebanese, he told his visitors, according to al-Liwaa daily published Friday.

His visitors also told al-Binaa newspaper that it was “the duty of all parties to support this cabinet so that it could meet the people’s demands.”

“Its success depends on how it would deal with files linked to social and livelihood issues,” Suleiman told the visitors.

On the issue of appointments to state positions, the president stressed the importance of only appointing “efficient” people. “This way we could pump a new blood into most administrations which would reflect positively on serving citizens.”

The president said only dialogue would solve differences among the Lebanese. “The barriers between the March 8 and 14 teams should not remain amid the dangers that this country is witnessing.”

Suleiman is currently hearing the viewpoints of the different parties before resuming the dialogue sessions which should not be preconditioned, the visitors said.

What dangers Mr. President? We are creating the dangers! Israel has vowed not to attack us unless we start the aggression (Forgot July 2006). There is a party in Lebanon bent on the destruction of Israel from Lebanese soil. Something we as Lebanese cannot afford to bear. This party is arming itself with weapons not even some of the largest armies in the world possess! All for Shabaa farms? Can't the Shabba farms be returned peacefully? Do We need all these weapons? Do you think if Israel gave us back the Shabaa farms, Hizbullah will lay down their weapons? Mr. President, in heavens sake, help this country. Where are you taking us?

President Suleiman knows damn well what General Suleiman knew then! Ie when the army seized in 2007 (i think) a weapons consignment destined to hizbollah and coming from Syria. He was thratened over the phone by a syrian general, and The Sayyed argued that it was a violation of the gov program as laid before parliament. That was Lahoud s promise at the UN to abide by and implement resolution 1701 ! They refused the german offer (and others) to have heavy hardware equipment at masnaa checkpoint to control incoming trucks and even considered any such controls as a hostile act against syrian territory. This is how the hezb militia replenished its arms stockpiles !

Remember al...he was the "concensus" president. Hizthrowup helped pick him.
They only way for this to all end is for the Lebanese being directly involved in electing the President/VP and all Parliment MP's themselves.
The Lebanese can control their future.
