IS Threatens to Kill Another Soldier over Govt. 'Procrastination, Lies'
The ruthless Islamic State jihadist group on Wednesday threatened to behead another army soldier over what it described as the Lebanese government's “lies” and “procrastination” in the negotiations over the abducted troops.
“We have been patient towards you and we have warned you, but we were confident that the decision is not in your hand and that you do not care about the soldiers who are in our custody,” the group said in a statement addressed to the government.
The statement was published by a Twitter page created on August 22 and claiming to speak in the name of the IS' Qalamun branch.
The authenticity of the communique could not be independently verified.
“Due to your lies, hypocrisy … procrastination and failure to honor your promises, we declare that we do not have any commitment towards you anymore and that we will behead a Lebanese soldier within 24 hours from the date of issuing this statement,” the group added.
“Only your honesty can stop us from executing” the threat, the IS said.
On Tuesday, the Qaida-linked al-Nusra Front threatened to murder captive army soldier Mohammed Maarouf Hamiyeh over what it called the army's “persecution” of Syrian refugees and “procrastination” in negotiations.
In August, the army engaged in deadly clashes with IS and Nusra militants in and around the Bekaa border town of Arsal.
The gunmen abducted around 35 troops and policemen during the fighting.
A few of them have since been released, two were beheaded by the IS, while the rest remain held by the militants.
The government has sought Qatar's help to ensure their safe release and the negotiations are being led by General Security chief Maj. Gen. Abbas Ibrahim.

Our politicians who are indifferent to people needs (for electricity, water and infra-structure, and jobs) are equally indifferent about the plight of the soldiers. Our politicians never let a crisis go to waste, they use every crises to jockey for more power and more wealth. Why not, our sheople are enabling them and they know very well that they own their sects and rule with carrots and sticks.

why doesn't lebanon threaten to behead, drown or torture another 20 Islamists for each solider the terrorists harm/hurt/kill? that might lead to rival savage protests.

They have plenty of supporters and sympathizers in Arsal, Tripoli, Naharnet, Bcharreh, etc. All Islamist scum should be killed.
