Nasrallah Snaps Back at Rivals: Hizbullah Continues to Back Aoun Candidacy

W300

Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah reiterated that his ally Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun remains a strong candidate for the presidency.

“We will continue to back his candidacy,” Nasrallah, whose remarks were released by the party's press office Wednesday, said at the launching of a new university.

“There is no change in our stance” regarding Aoun, he said.

During a speech last Friday, Nasrallah described Aoun as a “mandatory pathway” for the presidential elections.

Such a statement prompted his rivals to claim that Hizbullah is no longer keen on Aoun’s candidacy.

But the Hizbullah secretary-general reiterated in his speech at the launching of the university on Tuesday that the words “mandatory pathway” do not mean Aoun is no longer a candidate.

“They just want to explain things” as they like, he said about his rivals in the March 14 alliance.

Lebanon has been without a president since May last year when the term of Michel Suleiman ended with MPs unable to find a successor.

Sharp differences between the March 8 and 14 alliances left Baabda Palace vacant over their inability to agree on a consensual candidate.

Majority of Christians inside Lebanon backs Apun, they are the biggest Christian blog. He also speaks on behalf of the Christians suffering in the middle east.

That most of you guys live outside Lebanon cannot change that, Hariris party wants to take over, and the LF and Kataeb will be there to eat the leftovers.

Listen to your propaganda!
With what is Hariri's party going to take over..? with their 100,000 rockets, their 50,000 sectarian armed militia, with their zilzal rockets and ayoub drones;)
Your propaganda is so cheap it cannot be exchanged in a chinese knock off market.

If March 14 really stood by sovereignty and independence, then they would make a popular peoples voting system, instead of talking crap all day, let the people decide their future through ballot boxes.

Such as the Resistance and FPM suggested several times.

Mystic, if that would include all the Lebanese expats living abroad so they can make a decent living since all prospects for such work have been undermined by Hizb's actions in Lebanon (provoking the 2006 War, Campcity in Downtown, May 2008, the coup of bringing down the Hariri government while he wasn't even in Beirut to defend it, importing the Syrian War into Lebanon, etc.) - if all these people whom you've chased away off their land like the Israelis did to the Palestinians, if all these people can vote through the Lebanese Consulates of the respective countries they are now residing in, then sure, let the people vote directly.

Thumb Mystic over 9 years

Is that a fact? If you want to be part of the Lebanese society so much, then how come you are all living abroad, talking as if you knew what is happening.
How about the country being freed by the Resistance? I guess Southern Lebanon never meant mich to you people, the takfiris dragged Lebanon into the war and Israel too in 2006.
If you are so patriotic in March 14 then how come you always bow down to the enemies and make amends.
We remember clearly how March 14 behaved during 2006 and later in 2008.

excerpts from Aoun's interview with Robertson:
"General Aoun, delighted to have you with us on The 700 Club, welcome . Tell me about Hezbollah. We hear about the terrorist group Hezbollah. What relation do they have to Syria?
GENERAL AOUN: Hezbollah is not a separate entity from Syria. It is under the Syrian operational control.
ROBERTSON: The so-called terrorist group is under the operational control of Syria?
AOUN: Yes, 100 percent, no question about that.

If Geagea is allied with PSP, it's because PSP changed their principles and are part of the Axis against Syria and Iran. Aoun didn't just ally himself with an old enemy, he basically opened his zipper, peed on the hundreds of soldiers and civilians who died for him during his 2 wars in the nineties, and then allied himself with his mortal enemy. And he didn't just do it gradually, where stances started converging; no. The motherfucker woke up one day in February 2006 and decided that the best way to get rich was to align himself with the Syria-Iran axis.

More Iranian stooges than we need!

Thumb beiruti over 9 years

When was the last time that a Christian party leader demanded a certain Sunni as Prime Minister, or demanded a certain Shiite as Speaker of Parliament? It doesn't happen, never has, these are intercommunal decisions. The President, as symbol of the entire nation is elected by all parties and represents all parties, but with at least a Christian consensus that does not exist and cannot be manufactured or intimidated into existence. Aoun is not a consensus Christian candidate, nor is Geagea. Geagea accepts this and says that he will give support to any Christian except himself or Aoun. Geagea has his mind, it works fine. Aoun does not.

Thumb beiruti over 9 years

Mmmm, for all of Aoun's rants about the erosion of "Christian power" in Lebanon and how he has completely paralyzed the what is left of the hold over government until "Christian power" is vindicated, this is an odd development. It is not the other Christian parties who have joined Aoun's call, but his patron, Hassan Nasrallah, the Shia. He, the Shia, demands that Aoun is the Way the Truth and the Light and that there is no other solution but the Aoun solution.
