Aoun Hails ‘You Stink’ Campaign Demonstrations

W300

Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun congratulated the Lebanese youth of the You Stink campaign who demonstrated “peacefully” on Saturday in Downtown Beirut.

“I congratulate the Lebanese youth who demonstrated peacefully and civilized yesterday, and have proven mature in demanding their rights and pressing livelihood matters,” said Aoun in a statement on Sunday.

However, Aoun denounced the violence of security forces against the protesters saying “I denounce the violence against the demonstrators and the use of live ammunition,” calling for immediate accountability.

Aoun has warned the political majority and its apparatuses from taking advantage of the “noble demonstrations” to achieve political gains.

On Saturday, the You Stink campaign organized a protest and urged police to protect them and to not beat them similar to what happened on Wednesday during a demonstration.

But the Police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse thousands of them in Riad al-Solh square and to stop them from moving towards the nearby Nijmeh Square, leaving scores of protesters injured.

This is the real criminal. He is using the demonstrators who have a legitimate reason. He wants to bring down the government and reach total paralysis.

Political majority? hahaha....!
Where does he live and on which planet? Isn't Aoun part of this government?

@Southern of Iran: Ask Aoun and Nasrallah for stopping any solution in order to destroy the Lebanese Republic, all for a simple reason: Make the road open for a failed state run later by Iran as an extension to what is going on in Zabadani ... remember the blunt and unaccepted intervention by IRAN to empty Zabadani for the big plan of controlling the area... These people being used in demonstrations clearly are not your normal people that care about trash and seriously look for trouble for a political reason.

Had this lunatic aoun been in the opposition then his comments would carry some weight. But to be part of the government that he himself is obstructing and then to encourage the demonstrators is an act of political prostitution.

I thought Bassil was the minister of power and electricity for 4 years and I thought he promised us during a press conference we would have 24/24 electricity in the summer of 2015 which is just about now....;)

First, we must remind Micho that his party is a part of the "political majority and its apparatuses" that he says is taking advantage of the “noble demonstrations” to achieve political gains.

Second, it is the Aoun Family Political Movement that has paralyzed government so that it cannot address the basic needs of the people such as garbage collection and public sanitation. No, no, for the Aouni the private interests of his son in laws trumps the right of the people to a decent country free of garbage.

Who stinks? You stink Aoun!

8 minutes ago The You Stink campaign has asked security forces to clear the sit-in's square of "infiltrators."

Who could these "infiltrators" be? Aoun and hezbollah.... most definitely!
