Karam Admitted to Hospital, Security Forces Says No Cause for Concern
Alleged Israeli spy Fayez Karam was admitted to Hotel Dieu Hospital on Thursday morning for routine tests that will last 24 hours.
The Internal Security Forces general directorate issued a statement saying that he is in stable condition and there is no cause for concern.
They added that the tests were scheduled a week in advance and that Karam is expected to remain in hospital for a brief time.
There were conflicting reports earlier on Thursday over his state of health.
Al-Mada radio station said he was rushed to Hotel Dieu Hospital for heart bypass surgery.
Voice of Lebanon radio station, however, reported Karam was taken to hospital for a "routine medical checkup."
Tayyar website, for its part, stated that he was rushed to hospital after falling ill.
