The army's strike force launched on Wednesday a search for two Lebanese members of the extremist Islamic State group in the eastern Bekaa town of Baalbek, reported the National News Agency.

The search is focusing on the Sharawneh and al-Shiqan neighborhoods that have been cordoned off.

The suspects have been identified as Aa.M. and H.R.Sh. and are reportedly in possession of explosives and suicide vests.

The army and security forces have in recent months arrested numerous terror suspects linked to extremist groups involved in the conflict in neighboring Syria.
