Al-Qaida Leader Says Group Fought alongside US-Backed Forces

W300

The leader of al-Qaida' branch in Yemen says his militants have often fought alongside Yemeni government factions — remarks that could embarrass the U.S.-backed coalition fighting the impoverished Arab country's Shiite rebels.

Qasim al-Rimi leads the group known as Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, considered by Washington to be the most dangerous offshoot of the global terror network.

He says al-Qaida militants have on occasion fought alongside Yemeni government factions, including "the Muslim Brotherhood and also our brothers among the sons of tribes" against Yemen's Shiite rebels known as Houthis.

Al-Rimi, who is on the U.S. most-wanted list with a $5 million reward for his capture, spoke to AQAP's media arm al-Malahem on Sunday. He succeeded Nasir al-Wuhayshi, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike nearly two years ago.

i suppose this matter was treated among Trump and the Saudi prince in his last visit: that Usa has to put all its forces to counter the Syrian army progress, although siding with ISIS openly.

it's not what the terrorists of Al Qaeda are saying, but this is what every single decent person or credible country know already!!! Usa is the main terrorists sponsor along with KSA, the warmonger trains terrorrist "moderate rebels" in Jordan, gives them arms and send them to Syria, who later joing ISIS ranks, besides all the amunition they drop from air.... try to think by your own.

Missing peace over 8 years

in the 90's hezbis trained al qaeda operatives, operatives from hamas went to afghanistan to get trained, after the 2001 invasion of afghanistan, iran evacuated hundreds of al Qaeda personnel from afghanistan, allowing the formation of an al Qaeda "management council" on iranian soil... and our hezbis here are whining LOL

sure bad press it is for their propaganda of "antiterrorists" fighters while they are in the same boat of fanatics, different sects that's all LOL
