Phalange Party leader Amin Gemayel stressed on Thursday that Prime Minister-designate Najib Miqati’s allies should facilitate his mission of forming a new government.

He said after holding talks with British Ambassador to Lebanon Francis Mary Guy that the March 14 camp has done all it could, met Miqati, and informed him of its readiness to maintain Lebanon’s interest.

“The sides that voted for Miqati should cooperate with him to achieve national goals, but all we hear from them are obstacles that complicate his mission,” he stated.

“The questions we proposed are objective and fall in the country’s favor, but we didn’t receive any replies to them,” Gemayel noted.

“The only answers we received were from some March 8 members seeking to escalate the situation and increase the tensions, as if they don’t want a solution or achieve national unity,” he added.

Addressing House Speaker Nabih Berri’s statement that all sides should participate in rule, he commented: “We seek partnership, but it should be a true partnership.”
