Suleiman: Regional Changes Must Push us to Fortify Lebanon’s Democratic System

W300

President Michel Suleiman voiced on Thursday his optimism with Lebanon’s future, saying that the economy will improve when oil and gas excavation begins.

He said before his visitors: “The regional developments that have been taking place for about a year should motivate us to fortify Lebanon’s democratic system.”

Addressing local matters, the president hoped that the oil excavation will be accompanied by the administrative appointments that would be adopted through the proper mechanism.

Suleiman had held separate talks with a delegation from the western Bekaa and Rashayya, as well as Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abu Faour, Telecommunications Minister Nicolas Sehnaoui, and the head of the Lebanese-Syrian Higher Council Nasri Khoury.

The first step towards real democracy is for our great president, may God bless him and his family, to lead by taking a walk back to his home. From there, our greatest president ever can continue to remove the zeer from the beer.
